I really enjoyed Sleepy Bee Cafe. I ordered the bacon infused buttermilk pancakes which had a wonderfully large ice cream cream scoop of butter on top and a generous sprinkling of candied pecans. The maple syrup was rich and thick and from Ohio. I ordered a side of crispy bacon, I also tried the turmeric bone broth soup and I had a traditional mimosa. The soup was very flavorful I loved it. I really enjoyed my brunch. Next time I would just order the regular buttermilk pancakes but request that the candied pecans be sprinkled on top. When the bacon was baked inside of the pancakes although I'm sure it started out crispy it became less crispy because of the pancake mix. The candied pecans were out of this world. I ordered the two pancake stack I will admit I was not able to finish everything. I maybe would need to order just a single pancake next time, as the pancake was huge and filled up the entire plate. The side of bacon included four wonderfully crispy strips of thick bacon. The place was very busy. I was by myself so I sat up at the bar which had no wait seating based on availability. If I had wanted a table my wait would have been about half an hour. The place is very cozy, not very big I was there just after noon and it was very busy. This restaurant has limited hours it's only open for breakfast and lunch. Their menu has breakfast on one side and lunch on the other. I'm sure the lunches are delightful but I can't imagine getting anything other than breakfast here, I am dreaming of those candied pecans. They had super cute little gift items next to the register with their logo, they also had some food mixes, granola, teas, & pancake mix available for purchase as well. They had a lot of Staff working that day, no one was standing around everyone was very busy but it took that much staff to accommodate quickly getting food to the customers. I felt like my food came out very quickly once I had placed my order there was a slight wait for them to actually come up and give me the menu and a water and take my order. The wait to take the order was longer than the food coming out. The two gals behind the bar had more tasks than just waiting on the customers at the bar they were in charge of making all of the different mimosas and smoothies and various fancy drinks that all customers had ordered through the other servers. They did initially forget to give me a roll of flatware. I had to ask for it. I also had to ask for a refill on my ice water. But these things did not change my food experience. As both girls behind the bar were very sweet and delightful. Anyone looking around seeing that there was a wait and every table was full and every seat was full could understand how busy they were. I definitely want to go back to Sleepy Bee Cafe. I discovered it when I did a little mini staycation getting out of Dayton for the evening to go hang out...

Review:
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Sleepy Bee Cafe, and I must say, it left quite an impression on me. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home.
The first thing that caught my attention was the charming decor. The rustic wooden furniture, cozy seating areas, and vibrant pops of color created a delightful ambiance that instantly put me at ease. It was the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a delicious meal.
Speaking of meals, the menu at Sleepy Bee Cafe is a true culinary delight. They offer a wide variety of breakfast and brunch options that cater to all tastes and dietary preferences. Whether you're a fan of classic breakfast favorites like eggs and bacon or prefer a healthier choice like avocado toast, they have something for everyone. Their commitment to using fresh and locally sourced ingredients is evident in the quality and taste of their dishes.
During my visit, I opted for their famous Bee Cakes, and I was not disappointed. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and bursting with flavor. The generous portion size was just an added bonus. Accompanied by a cup of their rich and aromatic coffee, it was the perfect start to my day.
The staff at Sleepy Bee Cafe deserves a special mention as well. From the moment I walked in, they were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than happy to provide recommendations and ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional.
The only reason I didn't give Sleepy Bee Cafe a perfect five-star rating is because of the wait time. It can get quite busy, especially during peak hours, so be prepared to wait for a table. However, I must say that the wait is well worth it once you taste their delectable offerings.
In conclusion, Sleepy Bee Cafe is a hidden gem that should not be missed. It's the perfect place to enjoy a cozy breakfast or brunch with friends and family. With its inviting atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly staff, it's no wonder why it's a favorite among locals and visitors alike. I highly recommend giving Sleepy Bee Cafe a try – you won't be...
Read moreSleeping Bee was suggested by a local and definitely a great recommendation. The place is obsessed with bees (not the live ones). The entire atmosphere is bee-fied. If you are in Cincinnati area, this is definitely the place to be for a breakfast, brunch or lunch. We went on a Saturday late morning and the place had a good half an hour waiting. But with a recommendation and great reviews already, we thought it would be worth it. And it was.
Food: Their menu is quite extensive and a lot of options for vegetarians as well. We went for a single Apple Cake Pancake, Warm Quinoa Bowl and Roasted Beet Sandwich (with a side of Roasted Sweet Potatoes) along with Big Orange Splot and Grapefruit Juice. Warm Quinoa Bowl was simply amazing. Aesthetically, it was very appetizing and we enjoyed every bite of it. In terms of portion, it might a bit too much for a single person. It's best shared. Roasted Beet Sandwich was one of the best we had in the US yet. The idea of keeping beet as a hero of the sandwich is a big gamble and it paid off. Sourdough bread was great and I couldn't think of a better bread to go along with it. Apple Cake Pancake was good. However, the almond+quinoa+buckwheat flour lacked the strength to hold the pancake together. So, it made the whole pancake very brittle and almost impossible to eat with knife and fork. Luckily, we had spoons ;)
Ambiance: This place shouts "bee" everywhere - even in the restrooms. The theme is quite confusing as you have a brick wall at one end that gives it a rustic look but the rest of the place has a very contemporary styling. On each wall, you will find something or the other related to bees - a trivia or just a painting. But everything is related to bees. It seems to be getting a lot of young crowds, which I believe is due to good pricing and availability of smaller portions. Perhaps why, iIt is quite noisy, especially during peak hours.
Staff: The staff was great. Although the guy attending us was a little more excited than normal but there weren't any gaps in the service.
Overall, it was a great experience. Definitely up my list if I am contemplating a great breakfast on a...
