Great bottle shop/bar to visit whenever you're bored and wandering around Cincinnati looking for something to do. Heck, it's great to even just stop in and grab a pint or two! The owner, Brett, is one of the most friendliest owners I've ever met and is very personable and really knows his beer. The shop has a VAST amount of unique/rare beers and a beautiful/quiet atmosphere that is hard to find in a bar/tap room setting. If you're looking to get into the craft beer scene and don't know where to start, Brett and his shop is the place to start! He sells singles of a lot cans and bottles so you don't feel pressured to commit to an entire four pack of something you don't know if you'll like or not. Best curated beer selection in the downtown area, and maybe all of Cincy. Brett does a great job bringing in new and interesting beers. This shop has been amazing to have around under the circumstances.

The place has a very sleek decor with a variety of seating options around to have a beer in the taproom. For a beer in house, there are 16 taps with new beers on every week.

Where things really shine is the ability create your own 4, 6, 12, 400-pack to out of individual cans. Always some great, new, and interesting things from local breweries and breweries that aren't so local. It's pretty tough to get the same thing whenever you go, because there are just so many options. My wife and I were visiting from out of town and found this place due to the variety and rarity of beer it has, and it immediately became my favorite beer establishment. The owner personally served us, expeditiously and very respectfully, and certainly knew his beer! They do not serve food but allowed us to order from nearby restaurants (there are several good ones) and bring it back. There were some sketchy individuals along nearby streets but Standard Beer is well-lit and we felt totally safe inside.
