Really disappointed in this place. I stopped in with some friends to purchase some wax and a spoon for wax sealing letters. I normally go to Paper Source in Columbus, but I was happy to support a local Cincy business while I was out with some friends shopping with me. I asked an associate for the wax seal section and when I looked it was minimal, only have a green color and a pack of pink sticks. I picked up the pack of pink sticks and the spoon to consider while I kept shopping. Ultimately decided against them as they didn’t have stamps that I liked and ended up purchasing a pack of thank you cards and a Mother’s Day card.
After my friends and I completed our various purchases, the owner apparently followed me out of the store and down the street, stopping me on the street to ask me where I put the spoon and wax. I told him I decided against them and left them on a shelf in the store. He then insisted that I come back and show him, obviously implying that I had taken them without paying.
Shocked and awed, I followed him back to the store and showed him exactly where they were at. At this point, I was done and didn’t want to support their business anymore and demanded a refund. The employee or owner never acknowledged any wrong doing, never apologized for the altercation or accusation either. An apology when he was proven wrong would have gone a long way. I will never return, it’s worth the trip to Columbus to go to Paper Source. Much better selection, infinitely better...
Read moreThis is a small but MIGHTY stationery store! Every time I travel, I check for stationery stores. Let me tell you, it's hard to find stores that focus solely on stationery so I was ecstatic when I found one within 2 hours of me. They have a great collection of pens, pencils, notebooks, and some washi among other things. I love that they have a variety of pens you can test out, including fountain pens.
The lady who was working at the counter was super friendly, and kindly pointed out I had picked up a fountain pen to buy rather than the rollerball that I wanted. I'm glad she pointed it out because I would've been sad...
Read moreThis stationery store punches above its weight. Great selection of items despite the relatively small square footage. Another string point is the friendly staff.
A final bonus is the direct connection through an interior door to the cool shop next to it, MiCA 12v (home goods and gifts, in a larger space).
Many Japanese stationery items available, even some small and low-cost items. I also liked that there were local card designers featured.
Worth checking out if you live paper foods and other items (cool pens, pencils, decor,...
