My main complaint was the dine-in experience, but maybe I'm approaching this restaurant wrong and it would be a lot more enjoyable as takeout only. The rice was honestly the best rice I've ever had, idk what magic went into it but I'm tempted to go back just for the rice. Other items were good enough to enjoy. It was weird to be seated without any water; there's a drinks fridge in the front but I guess I was expecting regular dine-in restaurant procedures. The waiter didn't seem happy to be there himself. He was the only there and was in the kitchen almost the whole time, so my friend and I were awkwardly the only ones sitting in the dining area without anyone else for most of the time, not a huge issue but atmosphere felt very odd. Weirder yet at the end he tried to motivate us to tip if we get free water (??isn't the expectation to just tip? Are people not tipping here?). The owner's responses on some of these reviews match well with the socially awkward experience of dining in here lol....
Read moreI was extremely disappointed after dining at this restaurant. The service was very poor, the food was mediocre, and we had to wait for a long time. There were no greetings when we walked in and could be for every customer. It seemed like the same person was acting as the waiter, cook, and cashier. Their demeanor was cold, and they didn't even serve water. You need to go get it yourselves or purchase their drinks. We ordered three entrees, each supposed to come with a side salad, but only one was provided. After asking, we received another, but the third was missing entirely. The food was only lukewarm and definitely not freshly prepared; it seemed to be microwaved from pre-made products. Despite this, it took longer than expected for the food to be prepared. Considering it's somewhat like fast food, it's totally not worth the price. I definitely won't be returning, especially given the cold face...
Read moreWent here to dine in. It was nicely decorated inside showing the Afghan culture. The place was empty when we went. There was only 1 person doing both the takeout and who took our orders. Seems like he had his hands full the entire time as people kept coming in for takeouts. The food was really good. It was seasoned perfectly. I got the beef tikka & chicken kofta. It came with rice, salad, a small square piece of bread, and the white/green sauce condiments. My main complaint was the portions size was small compared to other Afghan restaurants I’ve been to for the price. I did not feel stuffed after I ate and I don’t need much to fill me up. Also I wished the bread was larger. It wasn’t the typical naan bread, it was the Afghan square bread you get the Middle Eastern store that looked like it was toasted. Anyway, it was a good place to try. I’d return if I’m not super hungry but looking...
