We used this company for our wedding because we had a choice between 5 vendors at estate at eagle lake . The owner and sales team pitched they’d handle anything that came up. They pitched us an extensive wedding package that marketed them as wedding planners with an outstanding delivery. They told me I’d have someone waiting on me at the wedding as an attendant. When the day came it was raining and the owner who said he could handle anything completely floundered. He didn’t handle anything - in fact he had his own anxiety and came to me about what to do. This happened multiple times. It was stressful. I did not have an attendant consistent and my attendant rarely could be found. My husband and I also didn’t have anyone bring us the appetizers or the desserts. We wished they would’ve been packaged up. So we missed out on most of the meal. It seemed the company’s focus was about the guests and their food.I would say the food is very good here and the guests were happy with their experience. however they shouldn’t have promoted themselves as a wedding planners if the food and guests were a focus. I called the owner the day after the wedding and he was defensive and furious at me. He told me I had my own problems I should deal with. I share this review if you are looking for a place that does food well than they do. However the delivery of their wedding planning services was not executed 4 years ago. They’ve since told me there is a new owner. Maybe things have changed. The reason why I’m responding 4 years after is because Covid happened and I had multiple chronic illnesses I was dealing wit. I also wanted to be clear with my review and my opinion still stands 4 years later. There is no time frame on a review. I hope others have a better experience but if you are someone with special needs or looking for delivery of wedding planning services you might want to look else where.
Erica- the phone call with you was difficult. You came on the call already telling me a google review would hurt your business before you even listened to me share my experience. It felt you were more about protecting your company than listening. This is good customer service. You mentioned people thanked you at the wedding. Our guests were happy. That’s not the point. You did a great job executing the food and guest services. My concerns were with myself being the bride. Regarding the the ice packs- that’s negligible. What happened and was listed in my husbands review before is exactly my experience:
“They market themselves as “wedding coordinator that will make your wedding planning seamless” and they failed to deliver in that regard! The sold my wife “The Dream” and failed to deliver. “ this is not going above and beyond to advocate for someone’s needs.
My husband stated this. He is a different person and its not helpful to gaslight a customer who’s had a bad experience. It’s better to evaluate what you can do differently versus keep convincing the client that you were all exceptional. The food was great but the wedding services pitched did not have follow through at that time. Hopefully you made changes since 2019 but by the way you are responding to my concerns I’m not sure. I hope this post might help a person evaluate clearly the delivery of this company AND the way you handle concerns. It would’ve been much more helpful to take a loss, ask how you could do things differently and make changes for the future or eliminate services that are not executed well. Instead you have blamed me yet again without asking about how you could do things differently. I hung up the phone because you kept talking over me and telling me that you all did the best job and did not want to hear otherwise. I have no problem having difficult conversations. However, I do...
Read moreFirst let me say I am not one to write reviews...but this past experience should be a warning for anyone looking to book a party at this place.
My family held a baby shower here recently. Up to this point all of our experiences have been delightful and the one event you’d assume all staff (and they were great!) including ownership would be most accommodating & courteous wasn’t the case.
The owner Joe Palombo decides to throw a temper tantrum over a table!!! This table was told to us that we could use and we had placed shower gifts on it. At first he sent in the hostess to deliver this news to us right after we had set it all up nicely with a ton of gifts. Where else would we have placed them? And we were assured it was OK to use the table, so we did! At the last moment Joe decided he wanted to pull the table from our room to use for a meeting he was holding. Seriously????!!!
His actions were embarrassing for the restaurant & his tantrum an attempt to dampen our Shower Party but we still managed to enjoy our time and the staff seemed to go out of their way to help us......knowing he was acting foolish and ignorant.
We had a table all set up with the baby shower gifts which we had asked 3xs if it was “OK” for us to use. We’d been assured that it was until Mr. Palombo stormed into our party and threw a fit. When he was asked to discuss this in a private setting he denied that and continued to show his visible distain by yelling at his staff (so loud that we could hear it) & dragging & banging chairs loudly while setting up another area (which was odd behavior from a “gentleman” his age as well as a owner of a restaurant that services patrons). It was really gross. The way he spoke to the Mother of the girls baby shower was disgusting. He spoke down to her & tried belittling her in front of everyone. Who does that???!!!
With 2 baby showers taking place on the same day you’d assume they’d be prepared to accommodate babies and the changing of babies???? Nope! This is not the case as there are no changing stations available there either! One of our guests was told to change her baby outside!!!!!???!!! SMH....as i said fortunately our party was not dismayed by the owners actions and would not allow his immaturity and lack of business acumen affect this special occasion. However I’d never see myself returning here and would highly NOT recommend this place for anything other than a dining experience (this way you don’t have to deal with Mr. G.I. Joe).
They have listings for catering services and offer their restaurant for hosting parties. Often serving host for bridal showers and baby showers however after this experience I hope people think twice about sharing their time and money here!!!!!! Mr. Joe Palombo from Due Amici is a poor owner who lacks the social skills and common sense to operate in this capacity. If it weren’t for his staff...
Read moreWell, my husband and I finally had a chance to use our gift certificate from 3 years ago! Erin Morgan was nice enough that every year we would call and see if the gift certificate was still good. She says it never expires. We both had some health issues that required us to stay away from people. We finally made to the restaurant! Yeah! We finally met Erin and she talk to us and wished us a happy anniversary. We were celebrating our 21st anniversary. We had Diego as our waiter and he was very polite, thoughtful and knowledgeable about the food. I ordered Chicken Marsala because it is my favorite and my husband ordered his favorite Seafood Involtini. The food looked great, should have taking pictures, but forgot. I started eating, but unfortunately it was not Chicken Marsala to me. It did have chicken, mushrooms, and a sauce a little around the plate and chicken on top of pasta. Unfortunately, I had to send it back it was tasteless and it tasted like a mushroom sauce because Marsala has a distinctive taste that you can taste. My husband Seafood Involtini unfortunately was smothered with Vodka Cream Sauce. Now he scraped some of the sauce off of the pasta, but I told to send it back and have sauce on the side. He chose to keep it. He ate his food and did not eat a lot of the pasta. Should have taking a picture of that! I was just going to deal with the salad, bread, and appetizer we ordered, but Diego came back and tried to get me to order something else. I was going to give up but my husband suggested what would I make at home and Diego said absolutely, what would you make, anything! My husband suggested grilled chicken, believe it or not I do not recall seeing grilled chicken on the menu. It could have been there and I missed it. So I ordered off the menu grilled chicken with grilled vegetables. Diego suggested maybe roasted potatoes, but they ended up not have any. Not a problem I finished the grilled chicken and vegetables and we used the gift certificate. Erin was very nice that she took off my meal and some money off for our appetizer because they were having some sort of 25 anniversary in the restaurant. We appreciate Erin for adjusting the bill, it was unexpected. Well it took 3 years to make it, Ha! Ha! Overall the experience was quiet, romantic, and we enjoyed being together....
