My daughter and I recently had the pleasure of visiting Handel's Ice Cream in Citrus Heights, and it was an experience to remember! The selection of flavors was impressive, with something to satisfy every sweet tooth. We decided to try their famous salted caramel and a scoop of cotton candy, and both were absolutely delightful—creamy, rich, and bursting with flavor.
What truly stood out during our visit was the exceptional service provided by Olivia. From the moment we walked in, she greeted us with a warm smile and took the time to recommend some of her favorite flavors. Her enthusiasm for the ice cream was infectious, and she was more than happy to let us sample a few before we made our decision.
Olivia’s knowledge about the different flavors and her genuine passion for customer service made our visit all the more enjoyable. She ensured that we felt welcome and appreciated, and her friendly demeanor created a wonderful atmosphere in the shop.
Overall, Handel's Ice Cream is a fantastic spot for anyone looking to indulge in some delicious ice cream, and Olivia's outstanding service made our experience even better. We can't wait to return and try more flavors—thanks, Olivia, for making our...
Read moreNice people, good service. However, no one seems to know how to make a banana split. In the event that anyone at Handels is reading this, let me give you a tip: A banana split with "traditional" toppings starts with one whole banana split down the middle (hence the name)..NOT a few banana slices placed randomly on the ice cream. Placed in between the banana slices is one scoop each of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry ice cream. The toppings should be hot fudge, strawberry sauce, and crushed pineapple sauce...NOT merely crushed pineapple and a few maraschino cherries tossed around. Last, a healthy pile of whipped cream and chopped nuts. The toppings should be in some sort of proportion with how much ice cream you're serving. So, if you're serving roughly two pints of ice cream per split (OMG) then you need more than a tablespoon of toppings. This was easily the worst banana split I've ever had ..no hot fudge, no strawberry sauce, minimal whipped cream. If cost is the issue, CHARGE MORE and give your customers a proper banana split. I guarantee you they will be...
Read moreI belive a young guy name Xavier helped me. I’ve been to this location twice and Folsom once and I’ve never experienced such rudeness like I have tonight. When he called me up to the counter asking me what I want I asked for a sample of 1 flavor. He huffed and rolled his eyes and it’s like I ruined his whole day. He needs re trained on his scoops. I paid $6.25 for a medium cup of ice cream and got less than I would in a small. He slid it to me on the counter didn’t say anything and than walked away. I was left sitting at the counter ready to pay for several minutes while the other employees were helping the other customers. I finally got tired of waiting and ask the girl I belive who was in charge for help because the person helping me decided to not finish. She was nice and kind to the customers but she really should get some coaching on running a shift and making sure employees are doing their job. I’ll give this location another chance before I totally off it. Hopefully the manager reads this and speaks to this young...
