Should have listened to our intuition when there were zero cars in the parking lot at 12:30pm. Then again upon walking in and seeing tons of cardboard boxes piled up against a wall....whole place looked dirty and unkempt. Thought it was supposed to be a cute diner, but not one bit. The woman who sat us. Placed us at an awkward round table with 1 chair and a corner area booth so the 3 of us were awkwardly sitting. The woman who sat us and took our drink order, and ultimately took our dishes away was very quiet and cold....not really a welcoming service person on top of the overall odd atmosphere. There is no indication anywhere outside that this is also an Indian cuisine restaurant. So if you didn't know, now you do. The food came out fast and as ordered, it was hot....just not good quality. They definitely skimp cost and go for for cheap, nasty ingredients for the American cuisine (unsure about the Indian one). Between the 3 of us who ordered we had a breakfast plate, an appetizer and a hot sandwich. At least half of the items were freezer items that were either microwaved or fried in oil. Around 1pm, "regulars" seemed to pour in....they were all sat on the opposite side of the restaurant- literally everyone. After reading the comments on here it was said that there may be some issues with racism or prejudiceness. Well, I will say that every customer who walked in was white.......the 3 of us were also white but we clearly were not regulars. One of the regulars even brought her loud meowing cat in the restaurant to sit at the booth with her and her partner. WOW. Health and safety much? Anyway.....it felt like we were in the twilight zone, it was dirty, I honestly felt like we should have left upon walking in but we didn't. Needless to say, within 30 minutes of leaving, 2 of the 3 of us were RUNNING to the...
Read moreMy experience at cafe's varies from state to state in my travels. A rare opportunity for me to have work available somewhat local to home (the greater Sacramento area) has caught my eye searching for a breakfast eatery at Rosie's Country Kitchen.
Well, what a treat. The breakfast menu item prices are better than most breakfast spots ranging from $9.99 and up, under $20. I had the least affordable and filling combo (Burger and 3 Egg Combo, comes with Hash Browns or Country Potatoes & Toast) that I can ever find in the area. I really appreciate that.
The service: I was (as well as other customers) were treated so kindly as our wait staff came around all the tables to refill drinks every so often (more often than most resturants) and the food presentation and delivery are great and fast. It looked good and simple and came out within minutes. Everyone can appreciate that.
The ambiance is very cozy, with an eclectic collection of decorations ranging from Tea & Coffee utensles, cups, pichers and bowls. Rosei's also has an Indian Food Menu that starts at 3pm daily. (If i have the opportunity, will give that a try).
I give Rosie's Country Kitchen a 5 Stars rating... on everything. Especially keeping in mind, my brothers and sisters in the Military and such as myself and those who have served with a veteran status. They HONOR Military and Veterans with a discount. Bravo... no wonder why i see such other positive reviews...
Read moreI've been visiting this Rosie's location a few times over the past year, and I can honestly say I've never felt so unwelcomed anywhere ever the (Rosies off Mather Field, Folsom blvd is way better). Everytime my wife and I come here the young Indian waiter lady always puts a rush on us and only us... We can never sit and enjoy our meal without feeling rushed to leave.. she's always asking every 2 mins if we need more coffee or water, at first I thought she was providing great service to make sure we have everything we need, but it's an issue when she come to our table asking if our cups is obviously full, and we keep turning her away until we actually need more. When the food arrives we only spend at least 5 mins on the food before she come back asking us if we need togo trays while the food has been barley touched... we never understand why we always get rushed out the place especially when its always empty, and we always hesitate to choose this place because of this problem. I didn't want to think the worst but my partner and I thought maybe it's because we're a bi-racial couple and their culture has issues...
