I came here with no expectations. Just checking it out after seeing many people seemingly enjoying themselves. It was excellent, even on a Sunday brunch when some places might not have the best chef on staff and the quality dips. Here it was excellent, well seasoned and dare I say decadent.
I ordered gnocchi with a braised beef skillet. Simply delicious. My mom ordered shrimp pasta and the shrimp was jumbo, high quality and very fresh.
Only suggestion would be when we arrive, offer us to order a bottle of still or sparkling water, like S. Pellegrino or Saratoga, or a carafe of tap water brought out to the table.
Also a small basket of Italian bread chunks, even at a small price is worth making part of the Italian dining experience a little more aligned with expectations.
Having to chase after our server and the check was definitely on par for the way they do it in Italy 😅 so no issues there (it was a little busy, and only one server on staff).
Also, I’ll say the skillet was so rich that I’d consider shrinking the size or making it more of a family style dish. Something to consider, when something is so flavorful, it makes sense to not overdo it, and maybe shrink the size to make one feel like less of a glutton, and leave me wanting more.
Also the bruschetta was well portioned however could have been chopped in half or in 3 strips to make eating it easier, more finger food style. Got all kinds of sauce on my face when eating that one, though it was quite delicious.
One last note, the music was a little uncharacteristic. I think it was just radio music or something. Not saying it needs to be an Italian cafe soundtrack, but maybe something with a vibe to tie the experience together.
It’s not your average Italian place, it’s very nice, way better than the Olive Garden if that’s a point of reference for some, and just a few refinements when it comes to service and atmosphere, it will be a great hit.
Overall, will definitely return to try other dishes. Also, there is outdoor seating which is good if you have a...
Read moreMy husband and I went a rare date here in April 2025, getting someone to watch the kids and trying out what we thought would be more if an upscale restaurant (the prices surly were). At first look, the place is very nice and clean. The server was friendly and when we ordered I showed her the item I was interested in and asked if there could be a change in the sauce as the one depicted in the menu didn't sound good to me. She mentioned a garlic butter sauce and I asked her if she thought that would go good with the other ingredients and I listed the ingredients from the menu. She said yes, and so it was ordered. My food arrived about 20 min later and it was not what I ordered. The server realized she had misunderstood what I wanted, apologized for not making sure she had gotten it correct and went back to get the correct dish for me. It took over 35 min to get my food. Turns out, when the kitchen did my correct meal, they had put incorrect pasta on it, the server noticed before bringing out and sent it back. When I did finally get my food, I was starving and my husband had fully finished his meal. After starting to eat I realized 2 ingredients were STILL MISSING from my meal! When my server came back I showed her, comparing to the menu with the list of ingredients, but told her I wasn't going to wait for another meal, although I was disappointed. She did get me one of the missing ingredients, some fried artichoke (which was really good), but it should have already been on the plate! I brought up everything to the manager and although he was polite, there was zero compensation, no discount, no apology, no coupons to try to rectify the situation or get us to want to come back. We spent over $110 and almost 1.5 hours, most of that waiting for my food. Needless to say, without proper customer service, and with obviously upset kitchen staff, we will not return and we have already given several friends in the area bad reviews on this restaurant. I had high hopes, I was very...
Read moreI have been there 4 times and once for pizza take out. The first 2 times were good- my chicken piccata was average but my pasta with burrata was great. The focaccia bread was wonderful and everyone else loved their meals. The 3rd time (a week before Christmas) it was a completely different restaurant. The focaccia was stale, it was cold and tasted like day old left out bread. My pasta pomodoro was over cooked, pasty sauce, little flavor and the meatballs were dry and overcooked. My mom’s pasta dish had two types of macaroni in there, like someone was using up pasta to get rid of it. The waitress wasn’t able to open our bottle of wine, my dad had to do it. It was like a completely different cook was back there- and each time I have been there no one offers grated parmigiana cheese - what Italian restaurant doesn’t offer that? I went back a fourth time reluctantly but our friends wanted to try it- we had the prosciutto and arugula pizza, which was very good. Then we did take out pizza last week - the same pizza and a margarita pizza- this time the crust was chewy and what was supposed to be prosciutto was just ham - there is definitely a difference. Please don’t pass off ham for prosciutto 🤨 but the sauce was thick and sweet on the margarita pizza as well. I only put this out there to hopefully help memo- it’s a new place and I truly want it to be great. I just think it’s too expensive to be this inconsistent- you can’t just pass off lackluster food because you think the customers will take it simply because you’re the only Italian place in the neighborhood. Give me a reason to come back again. I so badly want this place to offer better food...
