New Yorker Pizzeria & Pasta — Restaurant in City of Albany

Aside from the fact that the food was very good, I must say that the service was excellent. We ordered last night (6/6/17) around 11:00. Our apartment is always very difficult to find for those using an actual gps versus a mobile phone. The delivery driver called a few times to try and find the place but didn't have much luck starting out. We got in contact with the restaurant after about an hour from placing the order and explained the situation and they said they would send another driver. The person at the restaurant was very apologetic and said he would send us some extra food even though we said it was no problem and not to worry. In the end the original driver found our place with our original order and about 10 minutes later another driver showed up with nearly the same amount of food for free. Being new to Albany I have to admit that it was hard to find a place whose pizza I deemed tasty enough to return for more. This location,(whose menus and coupons are all plentiful in my building) has earned my business for their pizza and large tasty wings. BUT.. today I realized we’re being scammed- the coupon says one thing but the price they charge is not being honored. I used a coupon that offered everything for $53.99+ tax. When I went to pick up my food the final price was $64+! When I inquired why it was $10 more after taxes they simply said,” that’s how the system calculates it”. I protested there is no way I’m paying over $10 in taxes. They insisted that the system adds the extra tax. The itemized receipt showed the double taxing!! Ordered a pizza and wings for delivery around 9pm with an expected arrival by 9:57pm. I had to call around 10:30pm to ask where my food was. I got some run around story about a driver not being able to find my house so they made new food and were sending a different delivery person out. I received my food at 11:25pm and they gave me an extra pizza. The pizza was decent but the wings were not so decent. I am confused as to why they didn't call me when they said the delivery person couldn't find my house the first time because they called the second time they were out delivering my food and were lost. I just saw a review that is pretty similar to mine so I'm wondering if they use that as an excuse when they are delivering food way later than expected.
