Come for the food, stay for the service.
Qualities of a great establishment: family owned and operated, Sun-faded pictures of family around the restaurant, hand painted menu sign, a constant stream of locals and regulars- walking and driving up- to the place, empty trays on the display 2 hours before close, signs limiting the amount of cookie orders, a chef willing to talk to you about how âyou gonna love the crustâ and Sovrana has them all!
Will definitely be returning just to stop in and say hey! And to at least learn their names. The Sovrana family was so warm and inviting, just like the enchanting aroma of the pizza! Iâm no pizza connoisseur, but of the places I have been to in Albany, they were the busiest. From walks in looking for slices and drive-ups collecting whole pies (or two) there was a steady stream while we waited for order of GF pizza. Oh yeah! They have GF crust pizza! Which was...
Read moreToday I visited this pizza restaurant in Albany NY where my daughter lives and goes to school. I drove from Toronto to drop her and went to order one large pizza with my son. After picking our order my son wanted to add some spices. Unfortunately the lid of spice jar was not closed properly by someone before us so all of the spice fell into the pizza. I had asked this nice lady if there is anyway to remove the spice which accidentally dropped on pizza. She was so nice to help us, she said donât worry we will make a new pizza for you and you can eat what is good from this pizza without any charges. I was so happy with her super customer service, she did not make any money from our purchase but she wins our heart. The pizza is great and very nice people working I would recommend to anyone. Thank you...

We ordered their sicilian pizza with pepperoni and their chicken wings (medium). After picking it up we were very excited that it smelled delicious. Trying it was a little different. Despite having a lot of pepperoni on it, the pizza was a little bland. I'm not sure if it's the pizza in the area but everyone seems to be afraid to put spices in the sauce or on the crust. The chicken wings were really good (in size too) but they were barbeque. Apparently, that's all they serve? I just wish that was mentioned on the phone.
All in all the food was okay. I might order from Sovrana's again just to try their new york style pizza but there's a lot of other pizza...
