The food is good, but their staff leaves a lot to be desired. The staff are in great need of training: The woman who took my order at the counter did not know what was contained in any of the sandwiches on the menu (even a Reuben......a reuben. A very well known, classic sandwich.) and had to resort to STARING UP AT THE WALL to find the sandwich I ordered, and write down the ingredients. You're telling me the cooks cannot just make the sandwich if the name is listed on an order, they have to go line by line, item by item? It wasn't until she finally found the Reuben on the wall, that she stated they didn't have corn beef. I ordered the Route 106 instead and cue her staring at the wall again. Such a time waste.
Dear management: Either train your cook staff to memorize what ingredients go for each sandwich, or at least leave a list on the counter for your order staff to reference when a customer orders an item off the menu. Your staff should not have to resort to staring at the wall to know what to do and have to have the order staff list to cook staff every last thing that goes on a specialty menu sandwich!
Also do NOT go here if you are in a hurry. Unlike most delis, you will easily spend 15 minutes or more waiting for your food, even when you are the only ones there. Apparently generic crinkle-cut fries require over 15 minutes to fry......this kitchen needs to work on having better prep! It amazes me that this deli is still running!
It's a shame, because the food and iced tea is delicious, but I don't think I'll be coming back again unless this place gets some...
Read moreI work right up the street from this deli. Myself and the numerous other truckers that come in and out by Leo’s all say the same thing… high prices, low portions. I used to come here almost everyday for a few years up until about a year ago then had to start packing lunch from home because why a sandwich with no sides runs you about $15 or a breakfast sandwich runs you $10-$13 is crazy. And that’s no chips or drink included! Leo’s has decent food I’ll give them that, but sometimes you feel taken advantage of with some of...
Read moreGreat deli! Consistently good food and the owners are very nice. Can't beat the breakfast deal: $3.99 for 2 eggs on a roll with ham, sausage or bacon and a small coffee. The rolls are always fresh. The garlic shrimp is absolutely amazing- served over rice, makes a great meal. The beef stew with potatoes and carrots is delish and filling. The chicken noodle soup is excellent. Lunch special for $6.99 for meat with rice and beans and plantains is a great deal. It's all good. We eat here multiple...
