Nov 2022 I was at the checkout stand and Omar was the cashier. I told Omar, "Mike in electronics is a Dirtbag." Omar said "What did he do?" I said, I was talking with Barb in electronics and she said she went to Cal Poly Pomona, and they were called the Broncos. Mike came over and said he went to CSULB and bet we didn't know what they were called. We didn't know, so he told us they were called the "Dirtbags". Apparently, the baseball team played on a dirt field the first year, so the team took the name the "Dirtbags" and are still known by this name. Then, Mike said, "I am a Dirtbag and Proud of it. Go Dirtbags!" Lol Nov 2022 Last year, during the Covid Days, seniors were allowed to enter the store a hour earlier than the younger shoppers. My young lady neighbor, asked if she could accompany me when I go in the store, if we have another Covid lock down. I asked a manager, Sergio, and he said, "Sure, if she sits in the cart child's seat, when she enters with you." Lol. Then, it gets really funny, as Sergio gave this review to his manager, Jessica. After she read it, she said "Did you really say that?" Jesscia, thank you for giving everyone a hilarious unintended LOL. Oct 2022 Months ago, when sales discounts were more frequent, I went to Costco and purchased 4 each Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal boxes as they were discounted $2 per box. I also purchased 2 gallons of milk, sold in one box. I added some other items to the cart and went to checkout. Omar was the cashier. He passes many items thru the scanner. He looks at the 4 boxes of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, then looks at the milk and then says âLooks like you need more milkâ. (LOL) So, Omar was funny. A couple of months later, the sale is on again and I purchase 4 each boxes of Cinnamon Toast Crunch but no milk. I am at Omarâs cash register again, and before Omar can say anything about milk I say âThe milk is in the boxâ, point at the picture on the outside of the box showing the cereal in milk, and say âSee the milk and cereal is in the box togetherâ. So, Omar shakes his head and nearly whispers âNot funnyâ. Omar wins the funny contest unless I can come up with a funny response. So, I have my reply and here it is. â The 2 gallons of milk is condensed.â So. I tell Omar, âI win, you loseâ. June 2022 While in line at Costco, the lady in front of me was having trouble getting her credit card to work by tapping it. John was helping the cashier move groceries thru the checkout counter. So, John told the lady âstrip down facing meâ. The lady didnât understand that he was talking about the credit card. LOL July 2023 I told this story to Bianca, who works in the gas station area. Bianca listened very closely, then she started describing how you should take the card to get it to work. Apparently, Bianca helps people all the time, with how to tap the card and get it to work. She said very clearly, how you might tap it incorrectly. She was saying, you have to have the card with the proper side away from the surface you are tapping, you have to âŚ, I interrupt her and I say Bianca, âItâs a jokeâ. Then she says, âUh, uh, whatever you do donât tell John what I said.â Ok, Bianca, I wonât tell John. Lol From Michelle, "That took me a second đ¤Ł". From Theo "Well I am glad you had a good time there. " From Quyen, "We were just there too. Must have missed that lady, John and you đ. " May 2022 Mike is in the tire department. Mike gave me a price on four tires, and added, âTake your time deciding, no pressureâ. Itâs been a while since I purchased tires, and I said tires are more expensive now. So, Mike said itâs due to inflation. Mike is working and talking at the same time, and I mention this to him, and he says he calls it working tirelessly. So, the tires are first balanced, then put on my car and Mike lets me know itâs ready by saying âYour tired nowâ....
Read moreMy experience returning items at Costco this afternoon was really frustrating. I've had a membership for over ten years, and I very rarely return anything, especially food, unless thereâs a problem.
Today, I decided to return a large bag of edamame that I bought during my last shopping trip (about one to two weeks ago). When I got home and put it in the freezer, I realized I already had a bag, so I just left it in the freezer. Since I was shopping today, I decided to return it as well. When I got to the return counter, a lady assisted me. Everything seemed fine at firstâshe asked me why I was returning it, and I said I bought too much. Then she told me I needed to be more careful when shopping because they have to throw food away, and she said it in a strange tone. I thought to myself, fine, it was my fault for returning the item, so I didnât say anything.
After completing the return, I was putting my membership card and money back into my wallet and didnât leave immediately. Then, she very deliberately and loudly told me that if I wanted to enter the store, I needed to exit and go in through another entrance. She wasnât kindly reminding me; she assumed I was wrong before I had even done anything wrong. I told her that I knew, and that I was just putting away my card and money. I also said, âAre you perhaps overstepping a bit with your comments?â I then brought up how, during the return process, she had assumed I was in the wrong as well. I asked her if she says the same thing to every customer returning an item: âBe careful when shopping; donât return things.â
While we were talking, a woman who introduced herself as the manager, named Emily, came over to understand the situation. I had only said a few words when this manager told me that rI didnât need to explain myselfâshe would ask her staff. After the staff member finished speaking, Emily very firmly told me that the staff member had done nothing wrong and that she was just explaining the return policy to me. I replied, âSo the return policy is to tell customers to be careful when shopping, right?â I just wanted to confirm if they say that to every customer. Emily said yes. I said, although I havenât returned many items, why is it that others who return items arenât asked this, but she asked me? And my item was still unopened. If thatâs the case, why does Costco even allow returns? They might as well include in the return policy that customers should be careful when shopping and not return items afterward.
Later, I realized that Emily wasnât trying to resolve the issue; she was just escalating it. I didnât want to talk to them anymore, so I asked for a different manager. Unfortunately, I didnât catch the name of the new woman who came over. She was excellentâshe didnât take sides but understood the situation and the essence of the issue. She knew that all I wanted was fair treatment. Just because Iâm Asian and my English isnât perfect doesnât mean they can treat me differently. My request was simple: I just want the same shopping and return experience as every other customer,...
Read morewatch out when your at the checkout especially when they prescan. employees dont pay attention to you when you tell them something. i was scanned for 3 extra dog duck jerkys instead of 3 dog chicken jerkys. i told the prescanner but she insisted she scanned the chicken jerky. I told her she needs to correct the problem cuz the chicken jerky was cheaper but she won't listen. I then told the cadhier of the mistake but she didn't see the problem. I even showed her the receipt after and she said its ok they r the same price and I said no because of the coupon. then she told finally reslized it and told me to go to the return counter. I said she should fix it there cuz I already tild the prescanner and she didn't listen then I ssud she didnt listen. the return counter had a long line. I said she's holding up the line and I want a manager at this line now. so after some wait the manager came and finally fixed the problem and I explainex what happened and how the 2 emoloyees wont listen or do anything and excuse me of being wrong. I asked manager if cashier can fix the mix up and manager said yes just need to get someone higer that has the key. at least the manager understood and said the 2 will be delt with but I dont think they will. also seams like this costco does things there own way. I returned a foam mattress topper here without an receipt and instead of money back they gave me a cash card. saying if i didnt have receipt and item over $25 then u get a cash card. I told customer service that all other costcos I go to give money back even without receipt and I even asked about the return policy and explained that I was told will always get money back unless I wanted a cash card. He said that's not the policy. I asked for a manager but he wouldn't listen. So I was too fustrated and took the cash card walked away and thought twice maybe the policy had changed. The next tine I was at The Fullerton location to return something and I sked about the return policy and nithing has changed. Even if you don't have receipt they can look it up and you can have money back no matter how much item is unless you want a cash card and also I didn't know that you have 3 years to return items or more if manager decides even if you cancel membership. so becareful of this locations policy changes on returns or anything else. If you don't get your money back return it to another location don't dought yourself therir policy is wrong. also be ready for fustration and long wait of explaining and arguing to get things fixed. if u cant handle that then don't go to...
