Ok. So we're looking for decent quick cheap eats on the commons. We got real mixed results for that.

Wasn't too bad on price.

The boy liked his gyro pita.

The Mrs liked her gyro platter, but thought it needed some more sauce.

My felafel pita was fine, but pretty much arid desert dry, the sauce that could have provided moisture, flavor, pop!, had been relegated almost to the role of a garnish. Drips of sauce is not sauce. It's decorative-ish.

But the girl's caprese panini was an utter fail. 1. Took forever to make. I wanted to all eat together but I dawdled through most of my fries before her sando came. 2. It was dry and boring. She had to ask for some pesto to add some flavor, but come on, give it a little effort, guys! Make food good or knock it off and work for like White Castle or the mini-mart something. 3. It was wrapped in foil and pressed on the char broiler. Buy a sandwich press or get paninis the hell off the menu! No wonder it took 20 minutes on a slow night for a sandwich. 4. But worst thing was, there was nothing to it! First half was skimpy at best, other half had a couple of basil leaves, a single thin slice of cheese, and absolutely no tomato! Zero! But those are the damn ingredients! It was just bread, smeared (by my daughter) with the extra requested pesto. Waste of money, time, and my good mood.

And, top it all off, I felt like they weren't interested in being there (I get that) but also weren't interested in OUR being there (huh?), felt like we were an annoyance. Don't know, I just like to feel wanted or maybe even slightly appreciated when I'm trading money for food, you...

Dont come here if you're female.

I was continuously hit on by a man working there who was twice my age. He stared at my chest the entire time I ate. Not once did I ever indicate that his advances were appreciated. I told him "no" when he offered me my food for free. He didn't listen. I told him "no" when he insisted on giving me a drink. He didn't listen. He kept trying to talk to me while I ate, despite my painfully obvious lack of interest. I made a post on reddit about my experience. I learned that other people have been subjected to similar behaviour by the workers there. This is, apparently, the accepted work culture at this establishment. I will not be back. Thank you for not listening to me. Thank you for making me uncomfortable. Thank you for your unwanted advances. I asked the universe for a gf, and it gave me a creepy 40+ pizza man staring at my chest who didnt understand the word "no". If god exists, his humour is...

Disappointing Experience

I recently visited with high hopes of enjoying an authentic Jamaican patty, but unfortunately, my experience was a letdown. The moment I walked in, I noticed a swarm of flies buzzing around the food, which was a major red flag.

I ordered the patty, but it failed to impress. The dough was excessively thick and overpowered the filling, making it difficult to enjoy. To make matters worse, the flavor and texture were far from the authentic Jamaican patty I'm familiar with.

The price was also steep, considering the subpar quality. Overall, I was disappointed and wouldn't recommend to anyone seeking a genuine Jamaican patty experience.

Rating: 1/5 stars

Recommendation: Improve food handling and preparation to ensure a clean and authentic dining experience. Revise the recipe to achieve a more traditional Jamaican patty taste...

For those confused, the pizzeria and the restaurant that is right on top of the pizzeria on google is the exact same - you can get pizza but there are other options too. I got the lamb and chicken over rice and it also comes with some vegetables (pictured below). Overall, it was a good amount of food and it filled my hungry self up. Cost was around $15-16, which is alright. Something that I'm not a fan of is that drinks are $2.25 each and that there are not water cups. Service was solid - the guy behind counter seemed to be pretty chill. Overall, you get some very solid food for a solid price but you can find better. One good thing is that this place is halal (at least according to my Muslim friends) which I know is important for some people.

Verdict: Amazing halal pizzeria in Ithaca! Highly recommend!! Loved that halal is very clearly stated in the menu too Food: I got a pepperoni calzone and it was absolutely amazing. Perfectly balanced between the meat, cheese, and bread. It hit the spot. I’m actually craving it right now just writing this review 🤤 Service: The owner is a very friendly Moroccan guy. The place was packed on a Thursday night and he told everyone up front it was going to be a little longer getting the food. Thankfully it was worth the wait. The inside of the restaurant is a dated diner vibe. Price: Price was very fair. It’s near Cornell so it’s definitely in a college students budget.
