Sushi Osaka — Restaurant in City of Ithaca

We walked in for dinner and chose Sushi Osaka impromptu as we wanted to try their food which seemed like comfort Asian food at an affordable price. The staff welcomed us super friendly and let us sit down for deciding the order. The vibe was somewhat homey with a little touch of Asian decorations, mirrors, and a mini sushi bar without the seats to be exact.

We got the California Roll, Philadelphia Roll, Alligator Roll, and Okonomiyaki with shrimp shared for three and two pieces of Salmon sashimi for me. The portion was enough for the rolls and I liked the Alligator Roll the most because it was full of flavor with the eel sauce, avocado, and some fish eggs (I forgot the name). Besides, they also have Korean dishes which are placed on the very back of their menu and my friend told me that he tried the duck and it was scrumptious! I guess it's gonna be my reason to try their food again soon?

The staffs were attentive and friendly, and there was this one staff talked with us by noticing our speaking in our mother tongue language (Bahasa Indonesia) and she told us she was super happy meeting students, especially those who came from Asia as she was originally from Singapore which is super close to Indonesia. I ordered two rolls and a boba. I got a salmon and spicy tuna. They were both delicious, except... the salmon had bone in it... not one or two but three bones. That's why my rating is low.

Edit: It has now been a year since I have gone to Sushi Osaka and decided to give it another shot. Delicious salmon rolls loved the rice. I believe they have made it up too me 🙏. Hoping to visit in the future for another pleasant experience.

EDIT: It has been 2 years since my last visit and I have been very dissappointed by my last two recent visits. Rolls are extremely small. When i asked for ponzu I was give some unknown weird tasting smelling sauce. The spicy tuna is extemely bright reddish pink and the wasabi is also florescent green. I will not...

The food used to be kind of good but recently has taken an awful turn. I ordered through grubhub two nights ago and when the food arrived, all of the avocados were hard, the sushi was sour, the tempura was soggy and mostly unidentifiable. This left my boyfriend and I with a cup of white rice and a miso soup. The five other items we ordered were simply inedible which is horrible for an almost $50 meal.
