I ordered the spicy beef soup. The pictures on the website and the menu were nothing like what was served. The noodles and cabbage were 85% of the contents of the soup. There were a couple chunks of "beef" which had no meat, it was bone and cartilage. There was one sliver of mushroom and a couple chunks of fish cake. I admit I've never traveled outside the US, maybe this is how the food is actually served, but man, what a waste of money. Came with my family, nobody ate more than a couple bites. My mom got the vegetarian soup, tasted like bland laundry water. Staff was actually laughing at us after they set the food down. I dont read reviews before going to restaurants, I like to wander into new places and try them and judge for myself, but the other 1 star reviews I've since read have it right. Very little in the soup, meat is trash quality, super duper over expensive for what they put in front of you. I never leave reviews but man, I never feel sick from food and after eating the cabbage and what little else was in my soup I actually felt...
Read moreI had the spicy soup base, which was tasty, but the meat was extremely tough and not fresh—it was so unchewable I had to spit it out into my napkin. This place is very expensive: my pickled pepper beef bowl cost nearly $20 with tip, and there were only about five pieces of meat, none of which were edible. I’ve tried this place twice in the past year, and both times I ended up vomiting at home afterward. Since my friends who had the tomato soup base were fine, I suspect it was the pickled pepper soup base. It might be a coincidence, but I would not recommend this place...
Read moreAnyone who stumbles across this restaurant should understand what it is and what it is not. It is a fast food adjacent joint, which means the food comes on the table a couple minutes after ordering. The food does not taste like it was just prepared — those reviews have accurately spoken. But was it tasty? Was it authentic? Yes— if my mother taught me anything. Was it wonderfully warming on a cold autumn day? Absolutely. And the Chinese pop songs softly playing in the background and the mere 15$ that a bowl costs felt good...
