This is one of the best restaurants in Kingston. I have never had a bad meal here. The atmosphere is very quaint. It almost feels like you're in a pub in Italy. As you walk up to the front door, you get the impression that it will be a very high end, white table clothe establishment. However, when you walk in, it is incredibly warm and welcoming. Reservations are very much encouraged as it does have a very large following and the service can get slowed by the busyness of the restaurant. Though, several servers came over and were very attentive. We started off with a classic....fried calamari. Nearly every restaurant has this on the menu, but I have to say that this is one of the best I've had. It was not tough or chewy like you often find with most places, while the breading is still crisp and light. The dipping sauce(marinara) is rich and savory with a dash of red pepper flakes to finish it. For our entrees, we had two classics once again. Calamari Fra Diablo (which I subbed out for shrimp) and a Chicken Sorrentino. My suggestion is please come very hungry! The portions are large enough to force the adjustment of your belt loop. Or, there will be plenty to take home for lunch tomorrow. The Fra Diablo sauce was rich and not overly spicy, but still gives a kick to your pallet. The dish was loaded with shrimp that were very well cooked. Not rubbery or tough at all. Definitely a great dish. Then we come to the Sorrentino....this is a MUST HAVE!!! The chicken was tender, topped with prosciutto, mozzarella and eggplant, then finished with a rich and savory sauce that is simply to die for. Enjoy with a glass of Cab and you will leave very happy! Sorry that I didn't include pictures....I ate it too...

The nice young lady who answered the phone, took my order. I am a truck driver. She's not supposed to know how big my truck and trailer is but anyhow, I ended up finding a place to park directly. I believe to the west, but it was after hours, and there was nobody in this parking lot. I walked around to get my to go order , I know I'm getting her name wrong because I checked before I left. I'm extremely tired right now and it starts with an a Allison. Anyhow, this place fits right in with a small town.
Very friendly the conversation flowed I work at one of the loneliest jobs there is it was refreshing to come here. I bet it was the owner that came out. I told her that she look famous. I tried to joke around and pretend like I had a complaint it was going to brag about everyone there , I did the joke wrong but anyhow, she got the point and we had a little laugh
Even some of the patrons over there were very, very very friendly. The place carries a smile for the great genuineness. Thanks again you guys I hope to come back here...
Read moreWe ate here for the first time and got take-out. A review of take-out should always be considered in that context. Maybe the food would have been better if we ordered in. My lasagna was good and the portion fine. The house salad was very generous but swimming in dressing. My husband got the Chicken Milanese. The portion was huge but the chicken was very dry and pounded to less than a half inch. It seemed like it had been prepared earlier in the day and re-heated. The bill was a surprise. Higher than expected and with a surcharge added for take-out. The waitress said the online menu had not been updated in a long time. I realize inflation is hurting everyone including restaurants but it would be better to update the menu online so that people who are trying to decide whether to eat out at all know the price of their meal. We will try this restaurant again and see if we like other items on the menu better than what we...
