16 Handles – Where Community and Sweet Treats Come Together! If you’re looking for more than just a great soft-serve spot, 16 Handles in the North Ridge Shopping Center (77 Quaker Ridge Rd, New Rochelle) is the place to be. What makes this place special isn’t just the delicious frozen yogurt—it’s the way owners Dina DeCesare and her brother Richard have made it a true part of our community.
Every week, my 11-year-old daughter Harper and I have a daddy-daughter day, trying out different snack spots in the neighborhood. But no matter how many places we visit, we keep coming back to 16 Handles—it’s just that good! The store is always buzzing with energy, filled with kids and families enjoying an after-school treat. It’s become one of those places where you don’t just grab dessert—you make memories.
Dina and her team go the extra mile, decorating the store for every holiday with so much attention to detail that it feels like a celebration every time you walk in. But what really sets this place apart is how they make customers feel like family. Dina features pictures of local kids and families on a digital display, creating a fun and personal connection with the community. The walls are even decorated with framed school shirts and memorabilia, making it clear that this is a place that supports and celebrates New Rochelle.
Beyond the amazing flavors and toppings, what I love most about 16 Handles is its inviting, friendly atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where you walk in for ice cream but leave with great conversations, a few laughs, and maybe even a new friend.
If you haven’t been here yet, do yourself a favor and stop by. Whether you're coming in for the best soft-serve in town or just looking for a place that feels like home, 16 Handles...
Read moreFirst off this 16 Handles still requires masks despite NY state relaxing the mask mandate for indoor businesses to be aligned with CDC guidelines. Despite being one of the only businesses that still requires masks to be worn they do not supply masks. They also make you wear gloves that they provide because they must think Covid lives on surfaces despite CDC saying differently. If you are going to make people wear masks, supply masks just like you make customers wear gloves and supply gloves. The last kicker is they still make customers keep all the toppings in the plastic containers which are way more toppings than you need for cup of yogurt. Obviously the cups of toppings are weighed with the yogurt therefore charging higher prices due to the excess amount of toppings and the weight of the cups. While I am not concerned with the dollar or two more I might have paid for my families yogurt due to the cups of toppings, half of which I threw out, I am concerned with how many customers they have overcharged over the course of Covid. This place needs to follow the science like the rest of us and realize that most people are vaccinated and if they aren't vaccinated they will elect to wear masks. For the people that don't feel safe going out, they won't go out. Why make vaccinated people or people that choose to not wear masks, wear masks? Why is this any of their business? Get up with the times, stop living in your scared media influenced world and FOLLOW...
Read moreI visited a new franchise in New Rochelle and I saw the organization and well-maintained facility in the store. With the Pink Cup I ordered, I was satisfied with the Pistachio flavored ice cream with my favorite toppings. The lovely cashiers welcomed me to the store and made me feel valued in the place. The Pistachio was delicious, and the bubble toppings with the strawberry slices were both nutritious and delicious. With a few people lounging in the peaceful environment, I enjoyed my stay, catching up with my organization discussing our logo to be used in New York City.
I visited the store a second time, and the customer service was excellent. I loved the variety of toppings they provide, and the ice cream flavors are delicious. I chose Mango. Visit 16Handles, and experience what flavors they have in...
