Kiku Sushi — Restaurant in City of New Rochelle

For a local spot I love the sushi 🍣 tuna striped bass and salmon are the types of raw fish I prefer. I noticed people calling it salty and can’t help but wonder if maybe they put a gallon of soy sauce in it? Lol sushi and sashimi you only dip the end in soy sauce that’s it! Also another one who said “fish is sour must be old” okay so #1 bad fish isn’t sour it is smelly stinky and wouldn’t be edible and #2 sushi rice has vinegar in it. That’s the sour taste it’s part of the experience 🙄 Kitchen items: the pineapple fried rice (with chicken or shrimp both are good) is to die from and it’s enough to be a meal on its own. Love the gyoza and the shrimp shumai dumplings (fried or steamed). Great wonton soup. Finally I highly recommend the “spicy Szechuan wontons (ask for sauce on the side) they’re so delicious! In my opinion the best sushi spot in New Rochelle. But unfortunately, half the time, my experience is ruined and money wasted because no matter how much I repeat and they acknowledge my request, they STILL put spicy mayo on my food instead of on the side and it kills the whole moment for me. $60 wasted today! If cross contamination is for you and tiny mediocre sushi quality then this place is for you. Ive had and seen better quality and size per sushi each peice in Supermarket sushi, rice quality was low and broke apart very easily. I also experienced cross contamination of sushi here from a Doordash order, involving shellfish, when there was no shellfish in the order at all. Its very disturbing, because every professional sushi place has always been aware to not cross contaminate across the board , whether specified or not. You must start with a clean slate not reuse.
