I recently visited this restaurant for the first time with two friends.we ordered crispy calamari and burrata with figs and prosciutto as appetizers, then a Capricciosa pizza. It looked great when it was placed on our table. The burrata was dry, not creamy as it should be. The calamari was so crispy and breaded, you barely tasted the calamari. We ate half of the burrata, all the figs and prosciutto as we were hungry!! Then the pizza came, it also looked great and to our surprise it was watery and limp. I've eaten this pizza at regular pizza joints and has never been served like this. I had a corner of the crust with cheese and my two friends ate what ever the could and left the rest of the pie untouched, only two small slices were touched. I had mentioned to the waiter the burrata issue when he took the plates and the pizza issue only. When I was given the bill, we were charged for everything, regardless the complaints I expressed. I felt as a courtesy, he should have complimented something or at least extended a discount, something for the bad food experience. He stated since we ate it, we pay for it. I was shocked at his response and said, here is my payment but I will never return! his response was very calm "that's fine, thank you " In lieu of this unfortunate experience, I still gave him a 20% tip as I am aware the other workers also rely on the waiters tips. It is obvious there is courteous service to a food complaint and don't care if you return or not. This is my personal experience and in fairness to this restaurant I'm sure others may have had a fantastic time. Its a hit or miss when visiting a restaurants for...

Read moreI have gone to Mamma Francesca's for many years ever since I was a little girl and always loved the food. However, they closed the doors for a bit & did some major renovations. My boyfriend and I drove by and were surprised they reopened! We went in for some dinner and a glass of wine and I can say it's better than ever!
The inside is very contemporary- I loved it. It was given a well needed update. As for the food, it did not disappoint. I got the gorgonzola salad, mozzarella in carozza and my usual- penne alla vodka. I had missed their penne alla vodka so much. A lot of places tend to have their own way of making it and usually it won't be to my liking, but I've always loved Mamma's. My boyfriend got the bistecca pizzaiola and he loved his main course too.
The atmosphere was great and the service was good too. The staff was very friendly and the owner Nick even came over to us to talk to us and see how we liked our food. You don't really get too much of that nowadays so it was nice to have him check on us to make sure we liked everything.
Bottom line: I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and will definitely be coming back! I'm so glad Mamma's...
