I attended a wedding to someone very dear to me this weekend at this venue; the place indeed is spectacular ,an amazing view ; venue is simply beautiful .However the place lacks in customer service and satisfaction. I thought perhaps it was just me who always expects more from Customer service , but after sharing my thoughts with others I knew I was right. First let’s start with the arrival ; we drive into This beautiful cul de sac with a fountain and the person directing valet signs us to Park and a driver walks up to our car. My husband directs himself to who seems to be in charge and kindly requests Our car to be parked nearby and hands the guy a 20$ the guy agrees and goes To tell the driver (while me still in the car trying to get my three kids out ) and the driver immediately says “ I fu*^g heard him I’m not fu^%g deaf, I know where to park him” .. strike one! I thought that was so unprofessional for such extravagant place. We walk into the bridal suite all is wonderful, food is good the young lady in charge of taking care Of the bride is a sweetheart I believe her name was brea. The bride wanted a picture in the ballroom prior to her guests entering with her bridesmaids and groomsmen. So I asked brea who immediately said “I’ll have to ask my Maiter D” she didn’t even finish the sentence when this big tall rigid man says “ absolutely not we cannot do that the people have to come In now” granted it was 8:05 and cocktail hour was over at 8pm .. however I thought the way he addressed himself could have been more courteous to whom had just paid for 250 people venue. Strike two.. we had to run out the ballroom so that the guests didn’t see the couple and take pictures in the entrance with the piano .. then once inside I went over to the bar and felt intimidated by the bartender who seemed annoyed when I respectfully asked for a glass of wine because I didn’t want to impose with a mixed drink, his face looked like he didn’t want to be there .. and every time I went he didn’t say one word id lean in and ask for a glass of white wine, he’d turn around, pour it and left it on the table .. very intimidating so I would ask my husband to go get it for me. Then I heard stories that several other guests were given attitude when asking for drinks . The venue was booked till 12 am but the contract did say an additional 2 hrs could be granted if requested . When the groom went over to hand the cash, not check not card but cash to the maiter D he rolled his eyes sucked his teeth and said “ 2 hours?” You’re going to have to throw a few more hundreds for my staff for staying additional two hours .. however the price of all of that was already included in the additional cash that was handed to him. So the groom was upset and sent my husband to the Maiter D towards the end of the night with an additional 500$ for the staff including the tip for the young lady helping ,then he tells my husband he has to tip the girl separately 🤦🏻♀️.. the clock had not striked 2 yet when the lights went on and all guests were basically kicked out... for a place with such extravagant elegance and so pricey ... the bride and groom should have been accommodated and treated far better , along with the guests .... oh not to mention the food was stale and dry.. I almost choked on the prime rib. I remember waking in about a year ago to Inquire about the venue , the same manager was a sweetheart, he even gifted us a bottle of wine to win us over. It was the first venue we had came across on the strip. From what I was told by the bride and groom, everything was good sailing prior to the event. But clearly all they cared for was to get paid and get the party over with. This place needs A lesson in customer service , it’s not a cheap place and for the $$$ that was spent , the newlyweds and their guests should have been treated far better. Needless to say, the place is Breathtaking ... but so are many others, for the amount of disrespect and lack of careless ; I would NOT recommend it.. as you can see mines is not the only review...
Read moreMy husband and I got married here in November. The good: 1 - the venue is beautiful. Due to it being cold and rainy I didnt get to take pictures outside but my groom did and those pics came out lovely. 2- My bridal attendant was THE BEST. She was so sweet and attentive. Unfortunately, she did let me know that it was her last week there. 3 - All my guests raved about the cocktail hour food. Most people were full off of cocktail hour and didnt even get to eat their dinner but they enjoyed the quality of the food served during that time.
The UGLY: Leading up to the wedding, I was confident things would go great. Our assigned banquet manager was pleasant and I felt he was pretty helpful. The day before the wedding I asked him about the possibility of extending the time of the reception. He assured me I could make the decision any time the day of and gave me the pricing.
The ceremony started 30 mins late due to issues with the shuttle transporting my family (stressful but it happens). After the ceremony, the wedding party went immediately to go take pictures. I could tell something was wrong with the photographer and assistant..what I've come to find out was that the Maitre D and apparently the banquet manager could be heard making snarky comments and they were rushing the photographers. (I was told this after prompting the photographers for their opinions and several people in the bridal party heard the comments themselves.) Again, due to the inclement weather, we really didnt have many options of areas we could take the group pictures other than the stairway but rather than assisting to help things go as smoothly as possible, they just added to the stress factor. When the time came for my groom and I to go to see the reception room for the first time, I cried because the backdrop vendor and florists had done such a beautiful job. Unfortunately, the moment was marred by the Maitre D screaming at the camera man and assistant to "hurry and stage them for their picture". The decor vendor was recording the capture our reaction and you can actually hear him yelling at everyone in the background of the video. When it was time to cut the cake, the Maitre D LITERALLY took the knife out of our hand and the cut the cake for us. We have it captured on video as well. Throughout the reception he could be spotted looking very annoyed. I've had guests remark on how unprofessional his behavior was...and Im not talking about 1 or 2 guests. At 9:55 EXACTLY (our scheduled end time would have been for 10pm) the lights were switched on. Everyone was confused. The DJ announced it was the last song. I looked up to see the Maitre D standing over him like a bouncer. No one came to tell me that I had 15mins left or to ask if I wanted to extend (WHICH I DID!) As the bride, things were hectic and I would think that the Maitre D would communicate in a more effective way to let me know what was going on but nope! We had a photo booth and the vendor was a nervous wreck because the Maitre D had apparently instructed her to start shutting down pretty early and "in an intimidating tone" but people were still lined up to take pictures so tried to rush people through. The staff were apparently instructed to lock up all the drinks in the bridal suite around 9:30.
Interestingly enough, one of my bridesmaids was also planning to get married at the same venue in 2019 and had the same banquet manager. We immediately went to go and find him and speak to him. She told him that her fiance had also witnessed the unprofessional behavior and they were shocked and disgusted and unsure on whether they would keep the venue. The BM gave my husband and I two bottles of alcohol as an apology...
After all the money we spent I find it so disheartening that we were treated the way we were. In the days that followed I got to hear more horror stories of the day from my vendors and guests. My vendors were quite shocked especially. Overall we still managed to have a good time with our loved ones but Im still extremely...
Read moreMy wife and I cannot say enough about our experience with the Surf Club.
From the very first time we met with Jaime, right up through the end of our wedding night - everything was perfect.
At our first meeting, Jaime took the time to show us around and walk us through all of the food options. After we booked, he spent the next 14 months helping us plan every last detail. We met with him for a tasting about a month before the wedding and were completely blown away by the food. Jaime also recommended an officiant who turned out to be great! He was dedicated and professional throughout the whole process, and helped us avoid the stress that can come with planning a large wedding. By the end of it all, we really felt like he was part of the family.
On our wedding night, the service was nothing short of outstanding. Jaime was right there to greet us when we arrived, and the maître d’ (Antonio) couldn’t have been more helpful getting everything organized for us while our heads were spinning.
Most importantly, good luck finding a guest who didn’t say this was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding. First off, the amount of food at the cocktail hour was overwhelming. Between the sushi station, carving station, raw bar/seafood tower, mashed potato bar, fresh mozzarella chef, and so many other options I can’t even remember – on top of the trays being passed around – there was something for everyone. All 200-plus guests were completely blown away by the cocktail hour.
The food at the reception was equally outstanding: from the burrata salad to the steak, and everything in between. The tables were already set up with bottles of white & red wine on each, and the bartenders were always quick and efficient – nobody had to wait for a drink, no matter how many people were crowding the bar.
Finally, the Venetian hour was also completely overwhelming: ice cream, waffles, dozens of cakes & pies, fresh fried zeppoles, pastries, espresso & cappuccino, a nice bourbon & scotch selection to pair with our cigars … and everything else I can’t remember. (Every day since the wedding, guests have told me about something I didn’t even realize was there.) The wedding cake was also great (even though nobody had room for it!) … and everything was made in-house by their own pastry chef.
Last but not least, the bridal attendant, Breann, was amazing. She was so attentive and helpful from the very moment we arrived at the venue, through the ceremony rehearsal, and right down to the end of the night - when she had all of our stuff (including boxes of left-overs) packed up & ready to go. My wife and I never had to get our own drinks or make ourselves a plate at the cocktail or Venetian hours – Breann appeared out of thin air whenever our glasses or plates were getting empty. She treated us like royalty, and we can’t thank her enough.
Simply put – the venue is beautiful, and the food & service are second to none. You’ll be in good hands with Jaime & his crew at...
