Pizza Shops.... Yeah, they're literally on every corner, so a lot of times, people just take that for granted, because it may be conveniently close to them, and Pizza is Pizza, right ? NO, it's not. Sal's Pizza II is located in the Quaker Ridge Shopping Center, on Quaker Ridge Rd in the Wykagyl area of New Rochelle. I'm 57, so believe, I've had more than my fair share of Pizza from all over place. Sal's has the usual "regular" Pizza, which is delicious, but they also offer a huge variety of "Specialty" Pies, and Slices. Their "Grandma Sicilian" is just out of this world. SO GOOD it's just incredible. Unlike other Shops that offer the always popular "Salad Pizza", Sal's has taken it to the next level. The toppings include sliced Avocado, and frankly, I've never seen or had a Salad slice anywhere that even comes close to how great Sal's Salad Pizza is. The guys behind the Counter always greet everyone with a smile, and a "How are you today, what can we get for you ?" You'll literally stand at the Counter staring at about 10 different "Specialty" Pies, that will leave you wanting a Slice or two of EVERYTHING. While you're waiting, take a look at all of the fantastic pictures hanging on the walls. Hollywood Stars, pictures of Italy and Sicily, all while having some great conversations with the Owners. So incredibly friendly, always more than happy to create any kind of Pizza you can think of. I must easily pass a dozen Pizza Shops on my way to Sal's because it's worth the extra few miles I drive, just to get my hands on some of the BEST Pizza, regular, or "Specialty". Sal's II has become my absolute "Go to" Pizza Shop, anytime I'm feeling like having something unbelievably delicious. I drive a Subaru Street Race car, and a couple of days ago when I was at Sal's, we talked about cars, Ferrari's, and racing for half an hour. These guys are super friendly, always have time to talk, and I may have mentioned, they make INCREDIBLE PIZZA. Thinking about getting yourself a quick Slice, or a Pie for the Family ? Do yourself, and your stomach a favor, and make your way over to Sal's II. You won't be disappointed, and after that first bite, you'll never wanna go to another Pizza Shop ever again. đŻđđ ~Jules, aka The...
Read moreI am so disappointed. We always use Sal's. We have been patient with the long wait times because we like to support local restaurants. So I was so upset when my food was not treated with respect. Food is sacred to me. As such I would think that a restaurant would respect the sanctity of food. I placed a small order and patiently waited one hour and 15 minutes for my food. I get a call from the delivery guy who was at the wrong floor I gave him the correct floor. He did not bother to knock on the door and left my food on the floor! I would never be so disrespectful as to put someone's food on the floor especially now that we are dealing with a pandemic. I composed myself and called to express my disgust, the excuse I was given was that because of the virus they can not come in the house. Dont get me wrong im not asking anyone to come in my house. Iam asking that m My food be treated like food not like garbage. I was shocked that they feel that the solution to a pandemic is to put food on the floor when we are dealing with a virus that lives on surfaces. So basically they care about themselves but not their customers. To top it off the food was cold, not warm, luke warm but COLD! I don't think I can be loyal to...
Read moreWe popped in this place based off ranking on Wade and proximity as we drove from DC TO Boston. We had two very tired, very hungry kids with us. Mama needed Noms and wine. Kids got cheese, perfectly crisp yet chewy with the perfect amount of cheese. My hubs got pepperoni/sausage and said it was the tops, for his second slice he got fresh mozz basil red sauce very good. I grabbed a glass of Italian red and chicken parm.slice (thanks random guy ahead of us) and a chicken bruchetta slice. While we were munching down on some amazing slices Sal suprised us with a beautiful pasta. Try this! Calamari, Shrimp, Clams, Stock, Cream, Red Sauce, Garlic and what I can only describe as Herbs De Heaven!! The Calamari was so tender, not at all chewy. Pasta perfect. Sauce perfect. He really embraced these out of town strangers from Houston and made us feel like family. He even sent us on out way with a pie for when we get to Boston! Bravo Chef Sal Brah freaking Vooo!...
