Downstate Newburgh — Restaurant in City of Newburgh

Had an experience this morning that I've never had before at a business. I paid for my coffee with cash and the person working the register didn't give me my change which was the better part of a dollar. I don't care that inflation is making coins more useless than ever, I still shouldn't have to ask for my change. To be clear, I was too stunned into silence to ask for it and for some foolish reason I still tipped. I won’t be back, not that my individual business matters to this coffee shop, of course, but this was so egregious that I felt compelled to post my first ever google review.

Also it took 10 minutes for someone to pour the coffee (there was no line and it was just a drip coffee from the large canister), they didn't ask if I needed room in the coffee (I did but they filled it to the rim), and the cup leaked a steady drip out of it's seam (thank goodness I had a roll of paper towels in my car to...

I got a concha, my daughter a burrito, my other daughter got a gordita, the concha was amazingly delicious, loved every bite I could only eat half, it was huge, my daughter also could not finish her burrito, but she also enjoyed it, my other daughter got a gordita, we didn’t expect for it to look like it did, usually a gordita has filling inside, this one was like a sandwich with what looked like a hard tostada on the ends, she liked the filling, but was a bit disappointed at what she ordered, I got the mango/ginger juice, my kids got the jamaica and banana horchata, and they drank it, but also expected to taste like what I make at home, overall I was satisfied with my meal, oh my hubby oood and ahhh’d when he bit out of the concha I brought him back...

How disappointing! I never write reviews but Downstate was downright bad. I had the chilaquiles verde and asked for egg on the top. There were exactly 4 people(people who i heard only order coffee) in the establishment and it took 30 minutes for my food😵‍💫 to make it worse, the cashier was constantly reprimanding the (obviously new) cook. Loud enough for everyone to hear and when i mean constant, i mean constant. I felt stressed FOR him😭 food came and at this point it was just a soggy mess with little flavor.
