The wide popularity of this restaurant is simply astonishing, and I cannot fathom how it continues to draw in loyal customers.
My wife and I sat at the bar side (at a table) to avoid the crowd, and we immediately regretted this decision.
After about 20 minutes, a server acknowledged our presence. We ordered our beverages, an appetizer (pretzel sticks with two dipping sauces), wings and fries, and a chicken wrap with fries. We were informed the pretzel sticks may be sold out, but the server will 'let us know' if she finds any.
After approximately 20 more minutes, we randomly received a plate of fries, presumably half of one of the main meals we ordered. Still no word on the pretzels.
Fortunately, we were very hungry at this point- so the flavorless, dollar store quality frozen shoestring fries we were given sufficed us for the moment.
Once we slowed down with the fries (which, again, was meant to be part of the main course), the pretzel sticks we ordered a half hour prior were unexpectedly brought to us. Apparently they were in stock after all; although without the two advertised dipping sauces. When asked about this, our server stated the sauces were out of stock (which is a detail that would have prevented us from ordering the pretzel sticks to begin with).
After barely choking down the dry and stale pretzels bites (which tasted like a conglomeration of everything else in the restaurant freezer), we received our meals.
I ordered my wings Medium, which was out of caution after seeing several signs on the walls claiming "medium is hot, Hot is too hot, etc". Perhaps this was overly careful, as the medium wing sauce I recieved was about as spicy as Heinz ketchup. "Mild" would seem like a Carolina Reaper compared to the Marinara my wings were slathered with.
We requested silverware, as the table was not equipped with such. Since we didn't have an hour to wait for this, we ended up having to mainly eat our meals by hand as if we were at Medieval Times.
My wife's meal (also a disappointment; a poorly constructed wrap with breaded gristle and too much cheese) was particularly difficult to consume in this matter. Fortunately, after about 15 minutes, we were given exactly one fork and no other silverware.
I searched for the salt shaker (again, spicier than the wings), and found, of course, this was missing too. We asked the server for this after we recieved the fork, but we never heard back about the matter.
Despite these disappointments throughout our dining experience, we still maintained a level of politeness and courtesy to our server- who, to her credit, was also tending bar at the time. However, standing uncomfortably close to our table without verbally asking anything (with an facial expression suggesting "what do you want") does not seem to be the ideal level of customer service a well-branded restaurant like Duff's should employ.
If you're going to hire one spokesperson to represent the entire bar half of the restaurant, maybe don't elect the least customer friendly troglodyte in Western NY.
Needless to say, we won't be...
Read moreTL:DR - Buffalo wings were perhaps the best I've ever had, restaurant could use a deep-cleaning, service was OK.
I'd been to a different Duff's location about 20 years ago, and as I recalled the wings were excellent (and recommendedby a friend who was from Buffalo). For this trip I researched online and Duff's was still consistently recommended among the top wing restaurants in the Buffalo area.
We ordered mild and medium - wings were fantastic, perhaps the best I've ever had. They were very crispy on the outside, but very juicy, sauce was great - mild still had good flavor, medium had the right amount of vinegar tang and heat for me.
We chose this location because we were visiting Niagara Falls, but I would likely choose a different location if I had the option. The restaurant itself was small, and a bit dirty (floor needed cleaning, fair amount of dust on ceiling tiles especially around vents (painted black so easy to see it)). As best I recall, the last time I went at a different location it was much cleaner.
Our server was very nice, orders were made correctly, and everyone enjoyed the food. It took a little while, and they weren't busy, but I suspect the wings are twice-fried and made to order, which takes longer (and that's how they get them nice and crispy outside, but stay juicy inside). Our kids had cheeseburgers and they were very good; ordered with fries and the portion was very generous, they easily could have split 1 side order.

I would definitely recommend Duff's Buffalo wings to anyone who likes Buffalo wings, but you might consider a different location. You could also get carry-out, but I suspect the quality will not be as good. I think you need to eat these at the restaurant when they are hot and fresh for the...
Read moreWe decided to check this place based off the recommendation of someone back home in Wisconsin while we were in the area visiting Niagara Falls. I guess when we pulled up and saw hardly any cars on a Sunday night it should have been an indication on how our experience would be.
When we walked in the hostess just said, seat yourself. It didn’t appear very welcoming. We took a seat and the waitress came over and took our drink orders. We got those promptly. Besides the fried pickles, that was the only good thing at the restaurant that night.
We had to ask for a few minutes before ordering due to it being our first time there. The person I was with ordered wings and a side of fries, but the fries came out as if we did an appetizer of them. I ordered a grilled chicken breast with fries. The chicken was so burnt, I could hardly eat it. The person I was with got a refill on their drink only after asking for one. I sat the whole meal without a refill. We felt our waitress was purposely trying to ignore our table. I could see her looking in the doorway but never once came over and asked how dinner was or if we needed anything else. Even when she brought the bill, not once did she ask if we needed anything else or to see how it was. She had the table behind us well, and they seemed to get attention from her.
We definitely had high expectations for coming here based off the recommendation. We were definitely disappointed and unfortunately don’t recommend this location to anyone who might be in the area looking for a...
