except for the fact that its named for jackie gleason and he went out to this bar in the 50s-60s when he lived in cortlandt the food wasnt good at least the mac and cheese isnt good food seems overpriced to me the choice in beers especially on tap wasnt too appealing bottles not much better the specialty drinks sounded pretty good the have cute names for them like the bus driver (honeymooners) they are all like old fashioned drinks from back in the day priced around 10.00 not too bad they will also make you any other type of old fashioned drink you like the wait staff was very and helpful the ambiance is nice like an old time gin mill feel dark lighting and little red candle holders on tables also alit of old time movie posters hanging on wall if you are looking for a pic of jackie they have one in the mens room of him shooting pool they play nice old time music (frank sinatra) etc was playing when we were there among other old time singers of that age which sets a nice atmosphere as if you are back in those days and jackie might just walk in the door at any minute with a bunch if his famous friends and house guests such as frank sinatra marilyn monroe or joe dimagio nice ending to a day by the waterfront or after attending a concert in the park or going to see a show at the paramount if you are really interested in jackie gleason you could go to see the house that he lived on in the 50s and 60s first it is up gor sale for 12 million dollars by the current owner it is set atop rock and the property is beautiful he designed the house himself the house is completely round the builder was a ship builder who studied under frank lloyd wright jackie designed it to look like the mother ship as he called it because he believed in ufos in the main room the ceiling looks like a bunch of canoes the architecture is amazing there is also a smaller cottage also round which looks just like a ufo one of the previous owners had rentef it out to david bowie (wonder if that was his inspiration for 2001 a space oddity hmmmm) and other notable unnamec famous people the hous is at 196 furnace dock road in cortlandt ny you can call the real estate agent to see inside or just drive up to have a look around from outside not sure if you are suppose to or not but when we went the gate was open and there were no signs saying no tresspassing so we went for it lol sometimes you just gotta say what the...

Editing this review to respond to owner comments: Not every review from last night was from our table. You had a bad night for many tables, maybe it is time to admit that. I worked in the restaurant industry for years, from neighborhood cafes to high-end NYC establishments. and have never and would never be rude to waitstaff, especially due to delays beyond their control. I felt badly for them because you were clearly understaffed and they were so overwhelmed. I am the one who gave your manager my credit card-go ask her if I was ever rude. When we sat down we were very clear to your server that we were attending a show and what our timetable was. If he could not accomodate that he should have told us in the first place. I was never rude. Please go ask him. Over 25 minutes to get drinks from the bar, salads and one small pizza is an unreasonable wait. We ordered these because they are items that typically come out quickly. Only 5 of the 6 drinks we ordered were delivered. The pizza was delivered undercooked. The salads never arrived. Your storming out of the kitchen ranting about McDonald’s and how you wanted us to leave was unprofessional and left your staff uncomfortable at best. We went on a Wednesday at 7pm. The restaurant holds a trivia night from 7pm-9pm so if you prefer more quiet then this night is not for you. Otherwise it was not a big issue for us. We did not participate though. However it looked like they only had one waiter. He had a mask on. Most diners did not but there isn’t a mask mandate yet again in Peekskill. It took about 15-20 minutes for any server to come to our table. The bartender came over (not masked) but friendly. We got our drinks quickly. I ordered a salad appetizer which took longer than normal but was delicious. My friend got a pizza and I got chicken fingers as our entrees and both also delicious. The place was clean and service was good although took longer than normal. I think it was due to the trivia night (all tables but 2 + ours were filled with trivia players + most of the bar was occupied by trivia players). I would most definitely go again since the food was delicious. Also there’s a happy hour 5pm-8pm ($5 draft beers). I would recommend this place for sure. (Also for what it’s worth the trivia questions were good - the guy doing it was very good, questions were not too easy or hard).
