Where to begin... Ah, first a disclaimer. I have eaten here ONLY ONCE from a delivery order. I have no affiliation with ANY restaurants anywhere. I say this because I am going to come off as being particularly mean in this review. Its not my intention. I am being honest with my review. I have also eaten at EVERY sushi place in the poughkeepsie area, literally, both takeout/delivery and in shop. So I am quite annoyed that this review was even necessary. I am only writing this because of me being REALLY sure something funny happened with my order otherwise I would chalk it up to just maybe ME being off. But no, it was either a poor chef job or reheated food in a microwave or something... I know for a fact that SOMETHING was wrong in this situation.
The Beef Teriyaki. The beef appears to have been cooked from two different pieces which itself, that is fine. What isn't fine is that one was basically cooked 'blue' while the other was medium well. If the inconsistency wasn't enough, it also tasted like it was frozen/re-heated. The texture was very chewy and then suddenly TOUGH. How does that happen?
The Chicken teriyaki also tasted... reheated is the only word I can think. The texture of it was "wrong". I don't know how to properly describe it.
The rice which is a staple of Japanese cuisine was not something to write home about. Its the one thing which SHOULD have been right but wasn't. The meats, I get it. Not always gonna get right. But getting the rice wrong. By wrong, let me explain. You know the white rice you get from the uncle bens packets. That is EXACTLY what it was like. It had no business calling itself sushi rice.
The sides (kani salad and seaweed salad) were actually pretty good. Also, the rolls were fine too, if a little loose, but not the worst. Its the entrees... Nothing else being good was enough to salvage those two entrees. I will be avoiding future orders from here. I cannot GIVE points when the two main dishes were just BAD. Its probably covid related, which is fine. I just wish they would then take the dishes off the menu and leave it as rolls/sides to avoid...
Read moreWhat a bad experience. I went with my son today after school for a quiet dinner. There was only one couple there when we got there but regardless the first waitress Winny gave us attitude bc we needed a minute to decide on a drink. I mean Im not Japanese. I wanted to see what they had. That was the start. She must've said something bc out came the second waitress who was decent but once the other couple left the atmosphere changed in there. I was peaceful about it at first but they completely tried to disrespect me in front of my son. The last straw was when they turned up the radio full blast in the middle of a song. We were supposed to be having a nice time me and my son. I left that place upset and she got no tip plus I wrote bad service on there. This review is proof enough that you cannot treat ppl anyway you want and think they are powerless. I am letting then know if they read this that they need new waitresses and sushi ppl. Its those ppl who make a difference in any business and now you know... Youre business can do better without them. Thanks for...
Read moreWent for lunch yesterday, the food is okay but the place is very messy. They were many boxes of unpacked food and supplies, on the floor. Which gave me the feeling I was eating in a store room closet or something . Unfortunately from our table we could see all that mess throughout our entire meal. The little showcases where they have the fish are not clean looking. And the mint bowl at the checkout had a melted mint in there which needed to be cleaned The music that was playing was this weird mix of elevator music that got really annoying after a while. At least play Japanese elevator music They really need to do some...
