Waited 45 mins for a breakfast crumpet & one with lemon curd( the special of the day)to-go. I stood for 20 mins, then sat at the bench for another 25, quietly observing where I fell in line for the orders, there was a total of 4 to goes, all others dine-in. Which has small seating available. It is a cozy place with charm & I wasn't in much of a hurry, but became frustrated after waiting all that time seeing the 2 to-go orders placed after me get served. When I approach wondering my status, the "crumpet lady" was very unfriendly- not appreciative at all of a waiting customer- slide one box over, then finished the other saying, "there ya go." All other to go orders were placed in a bag. Nicely, the other staff gentleman asked if I wanted a bag. Why would this time be any different? Dear, Crumpet Lady, I enjoy your product, the atmosphere is lovely, but you might want to re-think, re-organize your system. At least at prime times. ( as i was there at 9:30am)Waiting 45 mins for an already made crumpet, with you just placing toppings then to be unkind really makes it difficult to want to recommend or return. I do wish you all the best, you have a true gem...

First off, I need to stress how openly kind the folks who own this place are. I felt like I had been welcomed into someone's home kitchen for breakfast. They bring a much needed change of pace to the business scene at this end of Monroe Ave. I hope they succeed and thrive. I went today with two friends. I had a crumpet with homemade raspberry jam. Good lord. Truly incredible texture and flavor. These are like nothing else we have in Rochester. One of my companions had his heart set on a bacon egg and cheese. The woman and her husband were happy to fix it for him - even though it's not on the menu (yet). Third asked to be surprised with a topping of the houses choosing. Surprised he was, with a peanut butter and fluff topped crumpet sporting a scoop of that excellent jam. We all left very satisfied and planning a return visit. I wholeheartedly recommend this place and their food. It's something deliciously different with a comfortable flair of...

If you haven't had these pillowy treats then you don't know what you're missing. I just happened to come across these out of the blue at a different establishment that sold these crumpets. And never had the opportunity to actually go to the place until the other day to actually get them fresh fresh. They are so soft and melts in your mouth. I really enjoy them with the pistachio cream topping which I did make at home myself but crumpets were freshly made from The Establishment itself which also serves the pistachio cream on their menu. Very bright and cheery atmosphere with seating available and there is also coffee for purchase as well take the time and...

The Crumpet Lady is BY FAR my favorite place to eat breakfast in the city. The atmosphere is somehow both relaxed AND fancy with their gorgeous decor and fancy tea sets yet close quarters and friendly regulars. On nice summer days theres even cute outdoor seating! Before you get to relax in the storybook picture-perfect seating though, you have to pick from their PHENOMENAL menu. Many if not all of their ingredients are locally sourced and everything is always so fresh. They have plenty of vegan options and you can always see the owner making the crumpets herself! If you haven't been there - GO CHECK THEM OUT.

Wow! Do yourself a favor and make a stop at this new place. Crumpets are like a fluffy cross between an English muffin and a pancake. They make for perfect bases for toppings that range from sweet to savory and simple to complex. Highly recommend the pesto, tomato, mozzarella and also loved the jam. Very nice staff. Would love to return. For the price you can try multiple options. Space inside is very cute and well thought out. Very limited seating. But these do make for good take out items. They made it back home safe, neat, and still warm.

Discovered crumpets this morning.. and oh my god are they good. I finally understand why I always want two English muffins - It's because an English muffin is trying to be a crumpet, minus all the fluffy interior. These aren't split, but they are toasted - lightly so that the outside is ever so slightly crisp, while the inside is fluffy and chewy. We stopped by the shop today and each got one to munch on for breakfast while we walked the dog... They were so good we took a loop around the block and stopped back in to buy a bag for home :)
