Had to return our order last night due to inedibility. Ordered the same dish as last week and what we received in the form of chicken panang was an eye sore and not at all what it's supposed to be. Also ordered hunan tofu paid extra to add chicken, they cut gigantic hunks of tofu to make it appear as if it was a full order to cover the crumbs of chicken. $33 we walked right back and returned it but I called the phone number which is a call center and so is the manager they refer u to and I made sure to tell them no remake just refund and when we arrived they refunded no issue so for that I commend them. Panang should not be separated looking like oil it should be swimming in a coconut curry broth. We got there before they said it would be ready so if it were properly made it wouldn't look like oil and the veggies were all wrong for the dish. Back in the day I used to eat here all the time and no where else!!! Changed owners years back and the prices are way too high for the cuisine and the potential to get robbed, car jacked or eaten by a monroe ave zombie just to pick up your food. Happy they refunded and if I am desperate enough I will only order fried food there as a last resort. GO TO WONGS KITCHEN on east ave they don't deliver but they have the best prices and portion and they know how too plate the dishes even in a takeout container. The pics below are from last night's chicken panang and hunan tofu...
Read moreIf I could I would give this restaurant a negative star rating. I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding the behavior of one of your staff members during a recent visit to Yummy Garden.
On 6/4/24 at around 7:35 pm I was delivering food to a customer from your restaurant when I encountered a very rude and unprofessional waiter (asked his name but no one gave me he wear glasses). As soon as I arrived, the waiter began shouting at me to confirm the order, repeatedly saying "confirm, confirm" in a loud and aggressive manner. When I calmly asked why he was shouting and mentioned that he should know better about customer service, he dismissively responded, "you're just a driver."
I was appalled by this response. No one deserves to be disrespected in such a manner, regardless of their role. As a delivery driver, I strive to provide excellent service to our mutual customers, and I expect to be treated with the same respect and professionalism in return.
This experience was extremely upsetting, and I believe it reflects poorly on Yummy Garden's reputation. I request a formal apology from both the waiter involved and from you as the owner. Such behavior is unacceptable and should be addressed to ensure it does not happen again...
Read moreOrdered delivery online thusly: 1) Hot & Sour Soup, requested extra spicy-not spicy at all, bland, and was extremely greasy, 2) Wonton Soup-bland, 3) Prawn Amazing, requested "extra extra extra spicy, don't hold back"-bland, not spicy at all, and somehow extremely greasy, 4) Sesame Chicken Combo, again requested "extra extra extra spicy, don't hold back"-again bland, and not spicy whatsoever. There is absolutely no excuse for Chinese food to be bland. The restaurant is only about a five minute drive, but the food was just a little better than room temperature. Woks were designed to use cooking oils as sparingly as possible, so how they managed to have a chef's specialty literally with more grease than sauce is beyond me. On the plus side, plenty of condiments in the bag which is a major plus, and the delivery driver was awesome, giving me back $30 that I had inadvertently given him. To sum it up, someone looking to hire a good driver should call Yummy Garden, but anyone who is craving Chinese should...
