Dragonfly Tavern — Restaurant in City of Rochester

DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE OUT OF STATE!!! TERRIBLE MANAGER!! The bartender, Sophie, refused to serve my friends and I since we all have different Ids from different states, as we are college students. We are all over 21 and we already ordered pizza so we wanted a drink. When we requested a manager, Jared, to hopefully sort this out, he proceeded to scream at me through the phone to never “bully one of his bartenders again and to never come back to his bar” even though once again, all we wanted was a drink with our pizza. I was nothing but kind when trying to explain the situation to him. All I said to the bartender was “do we need an officer to confirm our Ids?” and they took that as bullying, somehow. Not once did we yell or say anything rude, we were just shocked. I will not be returning although Sophie was kind, but not very bright considering she obviously doesn’t know that identifications vary by state. I understand that Jared was being protective of his workers, but that in no way shape or form a way to talk to a paying customer (considering we already ordered pizza!). They need to get a scanner if they are so concerned about fake IDs, because this kind of service is unacceptable. Jared could use an anger management class or two while he is at it. Being bullied by a manager at the Dragonfly was not on my bingo card for my friends...

Always enjoy myself at Dragonfly! Tuesday trivia is always a blast and packs the place. Plus it is free to play trivia. Weekends they have great deals on really good pizza. The perfect place to stop for a slice before, during or after a night out. Plus the outside seating area is a great place to hang out during the summer.

Edit: Weird experience recently. Was at the bar around 1:30 and they did last call but then 10 minutes later security was kicking everyone out of the bar (out into 15° weather). Not sure if this is normal practice but would have liked to stay inside the warm bar until 2 AM while waiting for my ride instead of out in the cold. Bumped my service rating down, but still overall love this place as...

Terrible costumer service. Went in the wrong door that was opened for us then was rudely told to leave and go in the other way. Woman has a terrible attitude for no reason. We were being polite and she was immediately combative. Then tried to go around and did not have ID so I had convince them to let me in.(we were basically in pjs were not going into the bar bro) Finally get in there and now she wants to walk back her rudeness.
