I am happy to say, after revisiting Cafe Sasso, I couldn't be more delighted and enthusiastic about this business. When it first opened I was rather upset by the interior design at the time. Since then, the owner has brought in really awesome couches and made it a much more homey and trendy atmosphere while ensuring it still holds its unique charm. Not only this, but the dedication of the owner shows. She makes every point to ensure she knows the inside and out of reviews so that she can improve, but also so that she can correct any issues if you had them and uses a collaborative approach to ensure constructive dialogue. She loves her business and treats her staff and customers like they are her own. That is something to be extremely grateful for in a society where many businesses see numbers rather than people.
As someone who really liked Boulder at this location, I have to say... I like Sasso much better at this point. The changes and atmosphere have improved greatly, the food and drinks are some of the best around, and honestly it is just a great place. The beautiful thing to me, is that this particular business is the epitome of what it means to be a local business that is not just in a community, but a firm foundation and part of the community. It is rare that I have the opportunity to re-review a business because many people, including my own self at times, resist change. But change can be very positive if we take the time to implement it and if we communicate positively and openly with one another.
I am so happy that this place is here on Park Avenue. It is an asset to the neighborhood that shouldn't be taken for granted.
Congratulations on a job well done Cafe Sasso!! Thank you for...
Read moreI recently visited Café Sasso with my daughter for a cup of coffee, and unfortunately, the experience was far from enjoyable. The décor is beautiful, which initially got me excited, especially to see the design on my fancy, overpriced latte. However, as you can see in the picture, the latte art was a complete joke—a 5-year-old could have done a better job.
On top of that, this is definitely not the place to relax on your phone or laptop. There’s a sign at the entrance clearly stating that there’s no public WiFi, which feels outdated and unwelcoming in today’s world.
The worst part, though, was the customer service. Not even a simple “hello” when I walked in. Instead, the staff stood there impatiently, looking irritated as I tried to navigate the menu on the wall. Their attitude came across as, “You should be happy I’m serving you,” which made the entire experience uncomfortable.
There are plenty of other coffee shops in Rochester where you can enjoy quality drinks and be treated like royalty. I wouldn’t recommend Café Sasso to anyone—it’s overpriced, overrated, and lacking in the customer...
Read moreI love this place for several reasons: First is the atmosphere! I love all the art on the walls, so much to look at. Always busy with an ecclectic demographic, a little bit of everybody! Second, the food. They have a couple GF options for pastries from Red Fern, delicious, reasonably priced sandwiches, tasty muffins and cookies. Third is the staff. Never had a bad experience here. Everybody always treats me like a friend, they're warm and inviting. Fourth: the drinks! Always delicious, sometimes I get a brewed coffee, occasionally a latte, or my favorite is the hot vanilla chai with oat milk.
There's seating inside but it's frequently busy, although there seems to be enough turnover that I can usually grab a seat somewhere, especially outside when weather's nice.
There's a lot of haven't explored on their menu, I'm a creature of habit and stick to the same things, but lots of drinks and concoctions to try!
Only drawback (maybe?) is no wifi, but it's so busy there it keeps the turnover high so it's good when you're trying to eat and chat...
