My wife and I came here for lunch today. We found parking up the street and walked the 5 minutes or so to the restaurant. We got there and there was a table free and there was a group of 4 and a group of 3 waiting on their food.
We ordered and I wanted to try the Beef Manakeesh but was told it was too busy to cook this right now. Seemed strange but ok, I ordered the NYC Mix plate and my wife ordered a Gyro combo with onion rings and a drink.
Shortly after sitting down we could see the other groups were waiting for a bit before us. Then there was a catering order which is likely what threw them all off. This seems like a small joint ran by minimal staff so this was likely the case.
The food starts to roll out about 20-30 minutes later. We happened to get our food first, then the 3 top and then the 4 top got their food with about 3-5 minutes between the first plate and the last. Two of them had Manakeesh so maybe that really does hold up the kitchen.
My wife enjoyed her Gyro, it was good and flavorful and in a circular type pita instead of half of one that some places do. The onion rings were good as well.
My NYC Mix was a miss for me. I don't think it was any fault of the place, I think it's just my personal taste. There was a spice in the meat or the rice that I don't like. It's likely a normal spice for this type of food I've just never had it to know I wouldn't like it.
A man, who I assume was the owner, realized the slow down of the kitchen and presented every table with a free dessert and apologized for the wait. This was a very nice...
Read moreI had an absolutely incredible dining experience at Halla Kabob! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality that made me feel right at home from the Owner Abdullah. The menu offers a fantastic variety of flavorful Lebanese food! Each dish is cooked to perfection. The marinated meat is tender, juicy, and bursting with authentic spices that make every bite a delight.
My personal favorite was the Mixed Meat NYC Plate. Savory chicken beef and lamb on rice.
The hummus and pita bread were fresh and served with a delicious, tangy side of Garlic sauce. I also recommend trying their signature rice, which was fluffy and seasoned beautifully.
The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and inviting, with a perfect blend of modern touches and traditional decor. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and the food arrived promptly.
Whether you're a first-time visitor or a regular, Halla Kabob is definitely worth a visit. I will be coming back soon for more of their mouth-watering dishes!...
Read moreFrustrated with the quality and price of food in Rochester, I pulled over to search for better options. Craving Mediterranean food at the time, I stumbled upon Hala Kebab. Seeing their excellent reviews, I decided to give them a try—and I’m so glad I did.
As a brown man living in the States, I can confidently say that the food at Hala Kebab is exceptional. It’s not just delicious—it’s the kind of food that keeps you coming back for more. They prioritize authenticity, quality, and, most importantly, flavor in everything they make.
I’m not someone who eats out often since I prefer to cook at home, but I’ve already ordered from this restaurant three times in the past week. So far, I’ve tried the chicken and beef kebabs, and both were incredibly impressive.
The staff are warm and welcoming, and the environment is spotless. I can’t recommend this place...
