Let's just say... even if it doesn't look busy here later in the day, don't expect to be served in a timely manner. The service and organization is ABYSMAL later in the day. And this isn't even factoring how this is a PRIME LOCATION with a TON OF BUSINESS, and they aren't even able to handle a smaller crowd... let alone a proper rush of people
You have a few people trying to hard-carry the rest of the crew, and they're not even the most organized/experienced crew either -- so they will still fail to deliver. They need more experienced workers here for the late-night shifts, and not "experienced for this area" standards - 'experienced for this area' would maybe only be at the level of "burnt out college student who is maybe a step or two away from straight up quitting"
The only reason this isn't a 2* is because I am averaging out the considerably better service in the early morning. That's it. For all intents and purposes, this place is essentially a 2*. PERIOD.
Kiosks are basically TERMINALLY always out of paper so you never get receipts. Which is miserable for everyone since people forget order numbers or get distracted and don't see them flash on the screen before being replaced with a "pick up your order at the counter." And worse, no receipt means no avenue for a less public review --- hence why you are seeing this review HERE instead of being sent to their customer service to sort out privately
One time, we had someone tell the crowd of people who were waiting at the counter for additional service for paying for their order... and got told by someone getting off of work that someone would be there shortly -- then left not too long after (which was fair, but kinda sucks) - then we got told to 'order at the kiosk' when a few of us had already clearly ordered already (with a tent in hand) and were waiting for additional assistance because the kiosk was not taking payments so we needed to pay at the counter. HI, I walked out that time because my order wasn't properly processed yet and we waited for quite some time already. That's an additional mess for the workers to deal with for no benefits
Organization here is a bloody mess and up to whoever is trying to carry the rest of the crew. One occurrence, the order displays were off and sticker orders for the bag being stuck on the monitor instead, and orders were not being kept track of well at all and being served out whenever they wished -- basically, if you were standing up by the counter, you were prioritized - not by how long you waited nor by when your order was first placed. And because of the kiosk not having receipts... we don't know who needed what and can't easily identify ANYTHING with what orders belong to who. Kiosks need to print receipts for a reason, ya know...?
Don't even get me started on the guys in the back. Earbuds? On the ear that is closer to the people that need to call out orders? And there's a sign right up there saying NO EARBUDS OR CELLPHONES?!?!! I don't even know which is worse, that there is someone not following regulations on earbuds, or the fact they they are working at a super leisurely pace when there is a crowd waiting at the counter and an entire row of cars waiting outside
Then there's the pile-up of food pushed toward the front when the bags aren't set up to sort out any of the orders. Hello??? That's why those orders are printed out to be stuck on bags, so you can quickly identify which bags need what items so they can be marked off and sent off to customers!!!
ABSOLUTE. ABOMINATION.
Early mornings are still good. More experienced workers, fewer crowds. Late in the day? Just give up. Less experienced workers, with no sense of urgency at all. There's a reason why Fast Food is considered a 'high intensity/high stress' work environment --- but that only applies if you actually plan on doing the job well and properly - which half of these people here clearly don't care enough and probably aren't paid enough to care either. Probably burnt out college students as well, so they're distracted by other things too....
Read moreWhen I entered this McDonald's there are very few people in line. Myself and a friend walked towards the counter and the cashiers insisted we use the electronic automatic ordering windows. while I was ordering five to six additional people entered the restaurant some of them also began using the electronic ordering windows. When I completed my order and was paying cash I went to the cashier and was behind one woman. of course for some reason that cashier was helping this woman even though she hadn't gone to the electronic ordering windows like she made me do.I also noticed that though there were now 10 to 12 people waiting to order and pay the second cashier had disappeared.
The one cashier that was left looked about 16 and seemed disinterested and was moving no faster than a turtle's pace. The woman she was helping without making her go to the Windows like everyone else had some kind of coupon which the young cashier was having great difficulty figuring out how to enter. My friend had ordered her food and gotten ahead of this woman with the coupon and was already out the door waiting for me in the car. It took more than 10 minutes before the 16 year old cashier casually and slowly decided to get some help. It still took another five minutes for me to get to the cashier and pay for my order. And I was only behind this one woman with the coupon. I only ordered a couple of McDoubles and it wasn't worth the wait.
the manager or supervisor seemed blissfully unaware that oh look there's a whole Lobby full of people waiting and one of the cashiers isn't even there for 15 minutes or that the one cashier that was working wasn't moving. The whole ordering process was at a complete standstill for almost 15 minutes. When I finally got my food and was leaving I noticed the second cashier casually come up and stand behind her register with of course no customers waiting. Perfect timing.
Some might say this is not necessarily the norm for McDonald's. But really it actually is because they hire young kids who are not interested in moving fast and actually doing a good job and supervisors who don't actually supervise their employees. I was a restaurant manager for many years and we were taught to be aware of everything and if you weren't aware of what was going on in your restaurant you weren't doing your job. And the professionally-run restaurants would almost certainly terminate such a manager.
If you allow employees, especially children to do whatever they wish and let them run the restaurant they will and their decisions will not be in the best interest of the restaurant the customers or anyone but themselves. I surely wish McDonald's would do a better job of having a competent manager working and understanding that they have to constantly supervises employees especially when they are children. you can walk into some McDonald's and see the supervisor with their head down probably because they're scared to look up and see what's...
Read moreWent here by drive thru . No one spoke to us thru speaker for a while . I did hear the other line taking orders. Took about 3 orders an I still wasn’t help.
