SO happy Tony decided to start fresh and open this wonderful restaurant. Han was a staple for us but post covid we noticed they went dramatically downhill. Little did we know that is because the magic behind them had left - Tony. Fast forward to today and Miba is now in their original location (which I much prefer) and it’s the same quality as pre-covid Han again. I highly reccomend the fried oyster mushrooms, jangdu pork, and fish and tofu in black bean sauce. Tony has created these wonderful fusion dishes full of complex flavor and very hearty. Also, not something you’d usually say about an Asian restaurant but the cheesecake? Phenomenal. The girl who was handling hostess and waitstaff made them and I don’t think I’ve ever had a better cheesecake before. The service was fantastic, attentive, informative, and right on top of everything. Tony came over to each table to talk to us and make sure everything was to our liking. The space is cozy, warm, and quaint just like I remembered. Parking is the only hang-up here as the building has none and the adjacent lot is mostly filled with dog town customers. Park down Summer st but expect a small walk. 10/10 cannot recommend this enough. One of the best spots in the city again, and rightfully so with Tony...
Read moreMy partner and I decided to stop in quite late for a takeout order to munch on before bed, and I am so glad we did! The employees who were working were incredibly helpful and patient with us as we discussed the menu, navigating us to items we should like best. I got the pork belly dish and my partner got the tofu, and it was AMAZING! The employee also was kind enough to take the time to explain to me the best way to consume the pork belly dish which I am very appreciative of- her guidance made my eating experience even better. Overall, I really recommend this place! After ordering take-out, I’m super excited to go in and sit down soon.
Edit to add: My total for two entrées came to below $30, but with tip it surpassed the $30 mark (total was $38). I want to add that I work in food service so I tend to tip on the heavier side, so overall it’s very affordable and I’m just doing...
Read moreI was really excited to see what has replaced the abomination that Han Noodle Bar became. To be honest, I’m disappointed. What this place is doing is trying to make common asian dishes upscale, but they are not doing it well. The food is not bad but there is nothing spectacular. You are paying an upscale dining price in exchange for additional garnishes that don’t enhance the dishes. $12.50 for 6 pieces of deep fried oyster mushroom and some sad shreds of scallion. You would think, maybe you’re paying for the experience… but no, service was slow and lacking, the seating was uncomfortable, the presentation was clumsy… for the price point they are charging. There are better...
