So disappointed I had pics sent to door dash customer service chat but it didn’t save to my phone , I wish it did. I spend 28$ plus tip for driver and tax 37$ for 2 alcapurrias 2 empanadillas and a mofongo meal with carne frita that was suppose to have chicharones ….. Well the alcapurrias weren’t even drained from oil it looked like the baggie had a good 2-3 tablespoons! Of oil it was so disgusting and they were salty !!!! Super salty ,I have 1 1/2 away couldn’t eat it , the empanadillas was cheese and beef and the meat looked like mashed up beans swimming in oil ! As soon as I bit into the empanadilla oil spilled all over my work shift and the floor and I STILL have some to pour into the trash - the amount of oil was insane - so I threw away the one i bit and gave away the other ($7 for 2 so $14 I lost) oh and my enpanadillas didn’t even look like the picture!!!! so moving on to the mofongo meal with carne frita I was super excited and then i took a taste of the mofongo — DRY and SALTY 😭😭 so so upset so I was like uk what let me put this mayokechu on … mad it worse ! The carne frita was like the meat you get from Tops I have all bones and where I did find meat was mainly FAT gooey fat like c’mon , and how can I forget the pond on oil underneath the meat … oh to top it off my lemon was BROWN 🤢… it hurt my SOUL to throw away $37 I wish I still had the pictures but I will never order or...
Read moreMy partner & I decided to stop in on a whim for lunch and were immediately welcomed by the owner, Lisa. She was super friendly and charismatic! As we were talking to Lisa, we could clearly see a beautiful pile of fresh peeled green plantains and at that point we were sold! I could see a little of my Caribbean island home in her kitchen! I instantly knew that our tostones were going to be amazing! We ordered alcapurruia and arroz con gandules with pernil! And what a treat that was! I even had a Tropi Cola Champagne Cola that brought me back to my childhood in Puerto Rico! Gracias, Lisa, for such wonderful Puerto Rican culinary classics and for sharing our roots and culture! And by the way, not surprisingly, Que Chereve just celebrated their first year anniversary last week! Super proud! Lisa, buena suerte in the years to come and you will certainly see us back soon at both your restaurant and at...
Read moreI will base my review only in the food I order. I orden a vegetarian dish of rice, beans and sweet plantains. Plantain are frozen not fresh and bean are not tasty at all it does not represent puertorican beans. Also order a plain, mofongo that was good not too much garlic. It was good. I order a tripleta, my oh my it was horrible. It had ham as it was ready to cook with beans it has no business in that tripleta at all, the absence of meat and the presence of lettuce was obvious and to top it was toasted. Tripletas are not toasted is not a sandwich is a tripleta. The juice do not even try it, it tastes nothing like the fruit and just like sugar and water. Que chevere is not a place that I will be visiting again. I spend too much for the poor quality of foos that I was given and will not be visiting again. It...
