I am so disappointed because I've been wanting to eat at the Revelry for 2 yrs. My daughter made reservations for my b-day but then it was shut down because Covid? So my chance came again, and I wanted to still go because the food looked delicious, staff looked friendly, and the good reviews?
I don't know if they were behind maybe because they was short-staffed, or delayed in the kitchen but we only ordered 3 hamburgers(their signature burger named after the restaurant)shrimp and grits. We selected those dishes because the food items we wanted from the website weren't available, I guess u can only get certain items on on certain times of the day? We also thought it was gonna be more Southern style dishes? My husband wanted a certain steak but they only had ribeye, so he chose the grits and shrimp,he asked for some eggs but they didn't have any. We waited up to 35-45 minutes and nobody came over to inform us why our food was taking so long(after we got our Cokes that we didn't drink because they was filled with so much ice, we never got the chance to ask if they could bring the same ones back with less ice and more soda, because nobody came back to our table, they didn't even look our way. They just paid attention to the customers behind us(our server was really nice still but he was more busy with the other patrons)and even when the lady who was most likely the head person came out, she didn't look our way either....just straight ahead at the other ppl and didn't smile once.
If someone would've acknowledged us just once after we ordered to say "Ur food's gonna be a little late, sorry about that" (for whatever reason)we would've waited longer but it was as if we were invisible so we left? As I was walking out, then a server(who wasn't ours)wished me a good night, again....as he was taking the other ppl their food. I was so excited to go there, and although my experience wasn't a pleasant one, obviously it was just my family's and u guys and dolls might have a a far better one and with all my heart, I truly hope u do? The restaurant on the inside looked really nice and clean, and I hope they continue to thrive because I don't believe in bashing an establishment, but I do hope they do better by treating EVERYBODY as if they matter? Please stay healthy and please be good...
Read moreI wanted to write in and provide some feedback on my experience with New Years Eve. I am quite disappointed to say the least.
We had originally scheduled a reservation for 745 for four people. We changed that to three people before the cut off on Thursday. However, we were no longer allowed the 745 timeslot even via phone. I don’t know why because it’s like the same size table for three people versus four people. And the person we spoke with on the phone was actually quite rude. That should’ve been my first warning!
We arrive at 8:30. We don’t get sat until almost 9. At that point you were out of some of the food we wanted to order. But I’m still stuck paying the $85 right so finally we worked it out to just do two firsts. Ok fine.
We didn’t get our final course until almost 10:45. before it came, I had asked for my check in a box. At that point I had to leave so I had to have my food boxed up. I took a bite and put it away. And let me just say the bite of steak was cold. In addition, it took probably close to 20-30 minutes for drinks to arrive. Please know, that this is not an exaggeration!
I get that it was NYE and it was incredibly busy. Another reason we tried to come earlier. I am just really disappointed with the customer service and the overall service on the day. I have food service experience myself, and I know that things happen, however, just too many issues that made our experience marginally less enjoyable and quite frustrating. I did not want to cause a scene or make a big deal, especially in the moment seeing how busy it was, I also did not have time at that point. I hope you’ll please take the above into consideration for next year and for day to day operations. I sent this in via email before posting but of course, received no...
Read moreOne of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. I truly regret spending my valentines here. My husband and I were wholeheartedly disappointed all around. From the moment we walked in the door, there was no staff present. It took them a couple minutes to show up. Then once they did, they couldn't find our name under the reservations. They finally did and said someone must have accidentally marked us as already seated. So they asked us just to wait a minute to set us a table. Didn't seem like a big deal. After seeing couple after couple get seated before us, I started to get upset. Finally after 30 minutes I asked the hostess how much longer. Then she apologized and said "sorry we couldn't find you!" Which seems impossible considering we were standing 3 feet from the hostess stand the entire time. No one ever approached us. Once seated, they did give us free glasses of champagne, which was nice but we don't drink. The rest of the night wasn't terrible but the service was unbearably slow. I know it was busy but I've been to busy restaurants on a holiday and it's never been that bad. The entire night our waters were empty and only refilled once, after we asked for a refill. And the most disappointing thing was the portion size. Now I don't need a massive steak or huge portions, but when you're charging $85 a person and gratuity included (totalling $220 by the end of the night), the least you could do is make it worth my while. We didn't even leave with a full belly. Overall just a terrible experience and I would not recommend this place to anyone. I really had high hopes. $220 just isn't worth this terrible experience just to leave...
