We had a group of 10 people come in for NYE/birthday celebration. The restaurant was hot and one of our guests was overheated and unfortunately vomited before she could make it to the bathroom. The server, Frank, came over and stated "I'm not dealing with that" and walked away. He came out again and we asked him what to do. He told us we had to clean it up ourselves. He continued to leave and come back, obviously annoyed with the situation...not asking if our guest was ok. We asked if he could use a mop or napkins. He said they didn't have any. We proceeded to use about 10-15 of the linen napkins from our table and the one around them, cleaned it up and sat back down. We all talked about whether to stay or not- didn't want to stay because Frank and the rest of the staff was rude, but knew we weren't going to have many options at 8:00pm on New Year's Eve.

We stayed and ate our meal. The table next to us was more concerned and asked our friend if she was ok. Frank never asked us how our food was and we barely got refills on our water. When our food was served, we had no dressing on our salads so we asked him for dressing. When he did bring the salad dressing out, he bent over and told me, "I hope this is the best salad dressing of your life". Not sure what that meant...We finally got our bill and felt pretty annoyed with having to pay Frank the automatic 20% gratuity ($63) when his service and level of enthusiasm was pitiful, at best.

We did talk with the manager on the way out, who seemed to be embarrassed of the situation but offered nothing else. None of the staff on the 2nd floor offered to help, nor asked if we were ok. I have always enjoyed previous experiences at Trata, but sadly, this will...

The reason why we picked Trata's is for the atmosphere and the rooftop Terrace, my experience was not good. Last Monday afternoon my girlfriends wanted sit outside , engage in girl talk, have a couple cocktails and enjoy appetizers. When we arrived there was waiter on the rooftop but, he could not serve us, (TRATA RULES) we had go to bar and bring back our drinks to the roof top . At this time, there was one couple on the roof top when we arrived. I asked the waiter if I could have the big table in front for 10 girls. He said the tables were for the dinner guests. He said ,we needed to see the manager, when he arrived, he gave us the table with the stipulation that we would order food. It was 2:30 in the afternoon and the kitchen was closed until 4:30. The bar on the roof top was not open until 3:30. The waiter could not wait on us because of staff change. So paying customers went up and down the stairs several times get cocktails. Once we sat at the table it was about at 3:30. The rooftop bartender was very nice and supportive. As soon as the kitchen open we were rushed to order food. The waitress was nice and appetizers were delicious, but she moved us along. I asked for one check and she said she had individual checks ready and on clip boards. She would have gotten a more generous tip if we didnt feel rushed. As paying customer I was very disappointed in the service and the rules around roof top terrace. No customers came up to the roof top terrance except us from 2:30 - 5pm. I can't even begin to express how disappointed in how we were treated. A customer is customer no matter what they order. Our next outting will not...

I hate writing reviews, especially negative ones. I've worked in customer service for several years and understand how difficult it can be, but our experience at TRATA on February 14th, 2025 was extremely upsetting. I made reservations for valentines day dinner on January 25th. The reservation was for 8pm and me and my partner arrived at 7:55. Upon checking in the hostess said our reservation was all set and it would be a 5-10 minute wait to get seated. We ended up waiting 45 minutes to get seated while several other couples that came in after us and had later reservations were sat first. We were considering saying something, but right before we went up one of the hostesses (most likely seeing that we had been waiting a long time) came over and asked what the name under our reservation was. We told her and explained that our reservation was for 8:00, as it was now 8:40. We were seated shortly after with only a quick "sorry for the wait" in response, no explanation at all. It took another 10 minutes for us to get water, at which point we asked our waiter if that long of a wait was normal, to which he responded that it wasn't at all. We left after that. While we were waiting, we noticed that the only other people who waited as long as we did for a table was another noticeably queer couple. They were the only ones left waiting with us for the 45 minutes we were at the front. We understand that it was busy for valentines day, but getting sat 40 minutes after my reservation seems excessive even on a busy day. Safe to say we will not be back and encourage queer couples to...

I'll start by saying that this used to be my all time favorite restaurant years ago. It was a great spot for date night. Great place for a girls outing or birthday celebration. When I moved back to this area, it was the place I was most excited for. Friends in the area had said it went downhill. I didn't want to believe them. We came on a weeknight for dinner and sat on the rooftop patio. There was about a 40 minute wait. Our server was very sweet and friendly. The food took a long time to arrive. My favorite dish has always been the brussel sprout salad. It used to be very crisp and refreshing with pancetta and cherry tomatoes, the dressing used to be light. This time it was soggy and sloppy. There was no freshness to it. We also ordered nachos which came cold, with minimal toppings. We asked for chicken on the nachos instead of chorizo. The chicken was very sparse, about 5 chunks, and very dry. It is advertised as having corn and pico on it. We asked for more of this to top it with. Not at all worth $17. The beer wall was something new to me here. The list online did not reflect what was available on tap. So after looking and deciding, we were disappointed to have to choose something else. Overall I was very saddened by my meal. Our cocktails were pretty good. The outdoor atmosphere was nice. I might come back for a drink. But don't think I'll ever come back for dinner. Very disappointed in how it had changed.

The ambiance was nice and the building was esthetically pleasing, the cucumber drink I had was amazing, and I got the blackened fish tacos which were actually really good. The clam chowder however was very different and the taste was very different than your typical chowder. It was chunky, but just odd tasting. I went with a large group who ordered different selections off the menu and there many were very unsatisfied with their selections. One ordered a burger well done and it literally came back red in the middle and only a desert was offered. Baked Mac and cheese was ordered and it was terribly dry. I’m not sure what exactly was wrong with the birthday girls burger, but she exchanged for a Caesar salad. So although I was happy with my selection and drink, pretty much everyone else was, and it was actually brought to the servers attention and the server said “and I put the order for well done on the burger”, but yet only offers a free desert is uncalled for. Without guests you have no establishment. The burger looked like it was going to run off the plate and she asked for the burger to be “well done”. To the owner: You can have a pretty building, and great location, but it takes excellent customer service and product to keep it going guys!! I see this way too much and this is B2B ;) Okay hope this helps.

Met a Rochester-local friend who wanted to try TRATA... and I'm so glad she did! It's inside an old, converted factory and has an upscale industrial vibe. Our server was nice enough, but we were catching up and talking a lot... and even though it was a Wednesday evening and there were many open tables... it felt like he was trying to turn the table over. We arrived at the trail end of happy hour and started with the lettuce 🥬 wraps. The ladies then proceeded to the beer 🍺 & wine 🍷 dispenser wall... that's right you can pour your own beer & wine by the ounce using a RFID or NFC card of some kind... PRETTY COOL IDEA! For mains I got the pork belly Bhan MI sandwich & fries. My wife got the way wagu burger 🍔 and Cesar salad 🥗 and our friend got the Nashville chicken sandwich with fries. ALL of the sandwiches were very good... as were the fries. My wife's Cesar salad was just OK. For dessert the ladies split the skillet cookie 🍪, which was unfortunately very undercooked... but the edges and ocean ice cream 🍨 got eaten. Our total with tax and tip was just over $136... granted the app and some of their drinks were at happy hour pricing. 🤑 Would recommend and if we go back while in the area... we're going to try and sit on their rooftop patio. 🤩
