Luca's Eatery — Restaurant in City of Schenectady

Came in to order food the other night with my significant other for the first time since it was the one night a month we were child free. It was a terrible experience. The woman behind the "bar" didn't even greet us. She never offered a drink, spoke very melancholy whenever we asked her something. It wasn't busy at all as there was only one couple at a table when we walked in, so there's really no excuse not to greet your customers and offer them a beverage. We had to ask for menus after sitting down because we weren't offered them, then had to ask again (after clearly sitting there ready to order) if she would take our order. She complained the whole time that she was never going to get out of there when it was only 8:30 when we came in and we had planned to eat in but decided to take it to go because having to deal with her sourness the entire night would've ruined the entire meal. I tried to order the Reuben, and they were all out. She complained that people were ordering them all day because of St. Patrick's day and then stated that they weren't even very good. So I ordered the duck burger and I must say the food is the only reason I gave it a star because the burger was actually really good. Unfortunately you couldn't pay me to go there again simply because of the customer service I received. Train her to work properly in the front of the restaurant or put her in the back because she's bringing down business, that's for sure. Absolutely...

6/22/22 Update - I am updating my review to 5 stars because Lucas reached out and explained that the toppings thing was a misunderstanding and made it right with a credit. We haven't ordered again yet, but hopefully when we do, it will be smooth sailing!

6/14/22 Original Review - Luca's pizza is our favorite in the capital region because of the consistent excellent topping flavor and amount. The pizza is just the right middle ground of thin but not too cracker thin. Why am I giving them a two-star instead of five-star rating do you ask? Unfortunately due to a change in management they now have the policy to charge $10 (@$2.50 ea) for a two topping pizza, with different toppings on each half. This is unheard of both locally with all of the other pizza places we order at and in other states. They're wanting to charge the same amount as four-topping pizza which doesn't make sense. That's $5 extra to NOT put the extra toppings. The recent change in management has implemented this policy and in the process lost a decade-long customer. Hopefully they see this review and change...

I have been going to Lucas for at least 8 years. He sold the place but remains there as a cook. They have this boy posing as a manager. Very rude and poor at customer service. I knew he was a jerk when I was ordering the food over the phone.

The wings were consistent but the fries were hard and not the same. I asked to speak to Luca, he told me no and that he is the manager and Luca is just the cook. The man remained on to keep the business going for the new owner and you down play him. He then proceeded to say don't ever come back. My name and credit card will be blocked, I won't be able to contact the business. Listen, you sound dumb. The owner needs to get rid of you and your poor customer service and sarcasm. I detected a little racism. Overall the change of hands and the hiring of bad staff will run this business into...
