I ordered a combo over rice, The man was very pleasant over the phone before I came in. He said he'll be ready in 10 minutes. I came in about 17 minutes later and the food was never made. No problem from the very patient man. He starts to make my order in front of me. He looks at me and visibly takes chicken out of my dish and puts it in someone else's combo. Next gentleman proceeds to ring me up. He starts punching some numbers into his computer system. I pay about $13 and some change cash. At this point. I asked the gentleman for a receipt. He provides me a receipt for the same meal after he goes back into the system, it's about $2 cheaper. I don't say anything I proceed to give him a dollar and the change as a tip. I'm not the type of individual to cause a scene. I feel like that's pointless. However, I am the type of individual to warn people about shoddy business practices. I'm a customer who has to work hard to provide for myself and I take the Liberty and the blessing of sharing my money with you to support your business, I expect no. I demand that you treat me fairly and everyone who walks in your establishment don't just make up random prices. It's against the law for a reason if it's and if it is motivated out of prejudice, I definitely cannot tell people to support your business. It's funny because halal food is supposed to be killed in a certain way that is in accordance with God. How can you in the same breath overcharge people or manipulate the numbers if you are supposed to be a GOD LOVING people BY DEFINITION THAT WOULD BE HARAM? Don't support businesses who manipulate their prices and money. The world is full of abundance. If I went to Chipotle the same price that I would pay today would be the same price I will pay tomorrow or at another location and the...
Read moreWe did delivery so I cannot rate the service nor the atmosphere, but the food is A+. Hubby ordered 2 lamb platters, 2 lamb gyros, and a side a pita for just the two of us. I haven't tried the platter yet, but it will be tomorrow's dinner. I just hoovered down the gyro and it was AWESOME!
It was mildly spicy (!) and saucy and the meat was chopped into small chunks, not sliced - so not at ALL what I expect from a "gyro". When I unwrapped it I was initially disappointed because there wasn't the trio (shredded lettuce, onion, and tomato) I was expecting to see, and the "white" sauce was not the traditional tzatziki I make/am used to receiving; there was nothing "white sauce" about the contents. But...after the first bite all my reservations vanished. I couldn't eat it fast enough!
Yeah, this reminds me of my homemade lamb korma (if I wrapped it in naan/flatbread/pita) more than it makes me think "gyro", but it's yummy so I really don't care about nomenclature; they can call it whatever they want! I will definitely order this again the next time we are too lazy to make gyros at home from leftover roast lamb! I can't wait to have the lamb platter tomorrow night! Since we do not eat poultry this close to Thanksgiving, I suspect we will need another round of lamb next week as well! Thanks for a great meal (4...
Read moreMr. Halal is a perfect place to get halal food. The food was amazing and the price was very reasonable for the amount of food you're getting. I ordered a chicken over rice with chickpeas onions, lettuce tomatoes, and the works. All the toppings that you add to your food are free. You're just paying a flat rate for what you're getting, and the food is more than enough for two people. Not to mention, the white sauce and spicy sauce were actually spicy, and it was rich and creamy. The chicken was seasoned perfectly, and even my mother would be happy. The rice was delicious it was Fluffy, not dry fresh and very aromatic. This may be the top three best Halal dishes I've gotten in Schenectady New York. The menu is very limited, which allows him to focus on mastering the few items that they're producing.
The only downside is that the location is not easily accessible if you're trying to find parking. It's a Jason to the movie theater and across from the bus stop, but navigating through there can be difficult on your first try. You have to park away and walk there, but it's worth it.
They are open every day from 10am to 3am. That's basically being open...
