First, let me preface this post by saying this is our first visit anywhere post pandemic openings. I understand venues may need time to get their staffing back to an appropriate level and I understand that.
That being said, I have to remind myself that they are asking for 18 to $20 per dish. We chose this restaurant because of the high regard it was given from people we had asked. Many of the reviews were very high for the spaghetti warehouse. considering that as the expectation I would say that the spaghetti warehouse more than failed to hit the mark. I have seen a few other posts where the spaghetti warehouse follows up with specific requests so I will do my best to be as specific about the problems I encountered.
upon arriving our expectations were very high a lot of really cool decor we were greeted quickly everything was in appearance very good. When we were seated I noticed a lot of the decor was integrated into some of the tables and that was very cool as well. Our initial order was taken pretty fast, drinks were brought out promptly no problems there. We were offered bread which was nice It was warm The butter was garlic and that was nice as well.
unfortunately this is where things really started to take a turn for us. We ordered the feast (that comes with spaghetti, lasagna, chicken parm, two meatballs, two sausages, two pieces of garlic bread, alfredo raviolis, $40) portion wise this was outstanding. Regarding the food though, first for a company called the spaghetti factory... The spaghetti was super slick as if it was possibly oiled beforehand sauce didn't stick to the spaghetti at all. our opinion was that the spaghetti was overcooked almost mushy. Sauce was too sweet for our palletalso didn't appear to have any other flavoring to it. I understand needing to make a sauce that satisfies many people but this sauce had no life. Specifically the meatballs were disappointing they appeared to look homemade but absolutely came off feeling as processed food (If not they tasted and felt texturally very dense like processed food) garlic bread was underwhelming again felt processed. overall this meal had the reminiscence of an upscale diner.
Service: Again to go back to that opening statement I understand they may have been understaffed because of how unpredictable it is to staff right now and I forgive that. However, that isn't changing the price of the meal which must be considered. Every table that wasn't occupied around us was not cleared. When I say this I mean literally every single table had cups and dishes from past customers. My drink was finished at the beginning of the meal and wasn't refilled until the end. Also it was refilled by a different waitress. Our major issue came just before the meal, When my daughter refused to switch her forks. She pointed out that she was all set with switching out forks because the second fork she was given had cheese melted onto it. Which means somebody had to wash that fork pick it up roll it with the other fork with food still on it and distribute that fork. I'm not sure who came to clear our plate but it wasn't our waiter, maybe a busboy, maybe a dishwasher but when we pointed it out no apology was offered.
Overall our bill came out to around $70. When I ask myself did I get $70 worth of value out of that meal? absolutely not, We were disappointed with our experience. I have no problem eating a $70 bill but I won't be spending that $70 with the...
Read moreThe sad part is this place used to be 5 stars. The restaurant was clean and spacious. But oh my have the food and service gone downhill. They got rid of half if not more of their menu items. Many of the items they were famous for (like the pepperoni pasta, or their pizzas) they don’t even have anymore. Really not acceptable. Their meat either comes in frozen or they freeze it themselves and they don’t know how to cook it properly. The product tastes old and dry—pork, beef, and especially the chicken, which wasn’t even edible. The red sauce is average, and the Alfredo is heavy on the butter and lacks flavor. You can tell that they keep their pasta stored cold and throw hot toppings on it to warm it up, because all of our dishes were cold throughout like they had been sitting out in open air). Three of our orders came out incorrect, mine included: a chicken sandwich that was supposed to come with garden and an aioli, and instead was chicken, lettuce, and a bun, thrown on a saucer plate. It was also supposed to come with fries but she gave me a salad instead of fries without asking me. No big deal, I like the salad too. They used to have a house Italian dressing that they used on their salad. Not sure whether it was homemade or not but it was good and unique. Unfortunately, they’ve now switched to the cheap stuff I could buy myself at the store, I suspect Ken’s. Our server was friendly and attentive, but was new and had some confusion. It was a pretty slow night so I wish somebody would have been helping her. The manager seemed kind of checked out, didn’t really care about our food or the experience. Did not take anything off our bill or even offer to remake it, instead whisked away our cold plates and microwaved them himself (his words not mine) making them even drier than they already were. During our whole meal we never got any bread after asking several times, while other tables ate away at theirs. They also used to provide Parmesan cheese for sprinkling on the dishes, but when we asked last night the staff was all confused by it. The wait on everything was quite long for it being so slow in there, but I don’t really mind waiting if the quality is good. It wasn’t. You can get more authentic Italian food for a better price from a hole-in-the-wall pizza joint in a strip mall around town. I would consider going back if they brought back any of their old recipes and improved the quality of their ingredients. Sorry to say I don’t see...
Read moreIf I were reviewing this restaurant just for the food, the rating would be a 4. The food was good and plentiful. Two of us shared the Ultimate Feast. It is definitely enough for three or more. One other in our group had lasagna and the other had manicotti. The red sauce was a little thick and made it a little difficult to eat but overall it was enjoyable.
The review for the staff would be 0 if possible. On average, we eat out at least 3 times a week and have been to numerous restaurants. This experience was, by far, the worst ever. The hosts were unprofessional and unfriendly. The young lady who was our server made it a point to tell us she was brand new. (Her named began with an M, something like Maymar) Apparently she had little if any training. She was so soft spoken we had to ask her to repeat herself three times. She took a drink order but had no known of what wines or beers were available. I asked for a white wine, but she had to ask at the bar what was available. She returned only to say it was a classic white. I asked what brand but she didn't know. The others ordered water. One ordered a Stella Artois but she had to check on that also. She returned with the wine, no water and to inform us Stella Artois was not available.
She finally took our order, poorly. She wasn't sure what was on the menu, how It was served or what it was. She didn't even bother to ask if we wanted a side salad or soup as listed on the menu.
When the food finally came out, she didn't bother to clear the appetizer dishes or empty glasses while trying to shove the food on the table. She only returned to the table twice, once when we were almost done and the second to ask if we wanted anything else, even though she walked past us multiple times. I finally had to ask for dessert. She had to be asked to clear the plates and then only took two at a time (because she only had two hands).
If our visit were based on her service only, we would never return. A side note: It is very unprofessional to have staff visit with friends, be on their phone and ignoring guests while working. One host had a friend visit who sat on the table in the...
