I recently had the opportunity to visit Yonkers brewery for their highly anticipated Saturday live music nights and Beer and it pains me to say that my overall experience fell far short of expectations. The service, a crucial element in any dining experience, was disappointingly poor. The staff appeared disinterested and inattentive, failing to provide the level of service one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. This lack of attentiveness had a significant impact on the enjoyment of the meal.
Moving on to the culinary aspect, the quality of the food was a major letdown. Several dishes arrived at the table visibly burnt, signaling a concerning lapse in attention to detail in the kitchen. One couldn't help but wonder about the chef's performance and whether there might be underlying issues, perhaps even related to alcohol consumption. It's disheartening to think that such a crucial element in the dining experience could be compromised.
Equally disconcerting was the management's response to the issues raised. When I approached them with my concerns, there was a notable lack of understanding and support. A restaurant's management should be the backbone of its operation, ensuring that patrons have a positive experience. Unfortunately, this was not the case at Yonkers brews leaving me questioning the overall professionalism of the establishment.
Adding to the frustration was the realization that yonkers brewery lacks flexibility in its return policy. Despite the evident shortcomings in the dishes served, (no meat in my steak nachos) I was denied the opportunity to return any items. A lack of willingness to address customer concerns is a significant flaw in any dining establishment.
On a more personal note, I was deeply disturbed by inappropriate comments from the staff regarding being heavier set and called ghetto? because I wanted what I paid for. Which was steak in my nachos. I believe that everyone deserves respect and accommodation regardless of their size And color .To experience behavior off putting demeanor from management and staff only compounded the negative aspects of an already disappointing visit. Yonkers brewery should also represent the people in this community and welcome the demographic living there not just the new high rise buildings. The live music was very bland and loud I could not converse with bar patrons near me. The soda cups are dirty and sticky. In conclusion, my time at yonkers brewery was marred by subpar service, burnt food, potential issues with the chef, unresponsive management, and a lack of accommodation for customer concerns. I sincerely hope that this feedback serves as constructive criticism and encourages the necessary improvements for the benefit of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe concept of this establishment for brunch is great, but the execution for it is not. Hereās why:
On the menu, they list Chicken & Waffles as āfried chicken.ā However, I asked before ordering if it was bone-in or chicken tenders. It was chicken tenders. I cannot justify paying near $20 for chicken tenders and a waffle. If you donāt know how to fry chicken or what chicken & waffles actually is, donāt offer it. Or better yet, make sure your kitchen actually knows what it is. Itās probably the simplest dish you can offer at brunch.
Bao Buns - I asked the size because I know they can vary. They were described as the size of an empanada. Accompanied by eggs and greens, I was willing to compromise and pay the $18. However after I ordered, I was informed the kitchen did not have bao buns. Why is it that the kitchen didnāt inform the servers or management that they didnāt have inventory at the start of business? I ended up getting wings and they were decent. You really have to work hard to mess up wings though. But also, maybe not for this morningās kitchen staff.
If youāre wondering why I didnāt get a burger or a wrap, itās because if I wanted that, I would have gone to Shake Shack or the deli.
My husband ordered the Breakfast Burger, which came out without the eggs and other details. The server immediately noticed when I asked my husband what he got and took the plate back to the kitchen. Reading is fundamental, and is absolutely necessary in any industry. Also, the burger wasnāt flavorful and was served with fries (menu said home fries, which are like a chopped up hash brown or cubed potatoes). Definitely not worth $18.
Iād also like to note the guest next to us ended up having a problem with their order and had to explain to the chef how to fix it. Iām just confused as to why that even had to happen. She was nice about it, but the chef was visibly frustrated because she corrected his mistakes. Competency is important.
Iām sure YBC is great when itās lunch, dinner, or if youāre drunk and donāt care what your food looks like. However, I wonāt experience that because first impressions matter a lot in the service industry.
Also, have a manager every day of the week because if youāre comfortable having incompetent employees, you need to handle the repercussions. ESPECIALLY on St. Patrickās day.
Shoutout to our server, Michael, though. He handled everything so professionally and was profusely apologizing to literally every table because thatās how many plates...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo originally i was going to stay quiet, but due to the owners pettiness , and lack of respect and professionalism, i am now going to speak. He is currently being investigated by the department of labor . if i could leave zero stars i would. It was a major mistake even choosing to be the manager of this brewery. The owner doesnt even run the restaurant nor has a general manager to do so. Between breaking the law, not scheduling breaks, family meals, and under paying and stealing money from staff and employees who work there to compensate for loss in the business, this place is a revolving door. I literally had to fight back and fourth just for the owner to pay me the proper wage which i have multiple text messages and photos of. Everyone who gets hired there quits to a point where they are so understaffed, they employ underage children (below 18) to work for them because no one else wants to. All the owner cares about is filling his pockets, instead of doing the right things to fix the issues, he ignores them and rather pass the issues off to someone else. Hes barely there at the restaurant. he hired people under pays them and expects his restaurant to transform over night instead of taking charge and being an active general manager. This restaurant will never flourish or get to the place it needs to be because of the owners lack of involvement and desire to focus on other things and his political career, he could honestly care less about the people who work there. A majority of people who work there again are either kids, or going back to school. all the poor reviews were absolutely correct. Between the service, lack of management, poor character and judgement of the people who run this family business, to employees abandoning their posts at the bar, voiding things, the management is so unorganized and lacks structure. Even an employee who was hospitalized and diagnosed with a brain tumor and has to have 2 surgeries, he did not want to approve petty cash for gasoline to go and see the employee in the hospital, which again we all have proof of. At least i left an honest opinion, and i choose to quit and choose something better for my life and now have...
