Such a lovely time at @tuttimangia last night. Appetizers included griilled octopus with marbled potatoes, castelvetrano olives, fennel, fresno chiles, with preserved lemon-erb vinaigrette and fresh yellowfin tuna crudo with sesame seed spice, burrata, eggplant caponata and a crostini. These appetizers were hit and miss. The octopus texture was off and I felt it needed seasoning whereas the tuna had incredible texture but was severely over seasoned. I found myself scraping off the seasoning with my butter knife so I could actually taste the fish. The accompanying burrata and caponata were very good though and made up for the not so great octopus and over seasoned tuna. On the bright side, my veal chop with bone marrow and mushrooms was phenomenal! Meat was seared and seasoned to absolute perfection. I was so impressed with my main course. Wish I could say the same for the desserts. My server recommend the ricotta lemon cheesecake which surprisingly I didn't love. It had weird texture and was smothered in a sweet whipped cream. When I let my server know I didn't care for it he thoughtfully brought out the other dessert I was looking at, the bundino. It was okay. I appreciated the gesture greatly. Overall, the star was the meat. The ambiance is lovely and my server was friendly. I'd love to go back and try some of the fish and pasta.

If there ever was a place to bring a date or to celebrate a special occasion, this was the place. Tutti Mangia, italian for everybody eats, was one of those rarefied, posh places that exuded old-world charm. Located in the city of Claremont, it can be found in an area far removed from the Saturday night traffic, noise, and crowds. It's distance and isolation, I would say, added to its mystery and charm. The restaurant itself was quite large featuring panoramic views of the world outside. The tables were neatly dressed with white pressed and taut tablecloths, reminding me of soldiers dressed in their class A uniforms standing at attention. The staff and servers were also sharply dressed with manners that were very becoming. The food itself was excellent. I had the Mafaldine, which was a type of ribbon-shaped pasta. The dish had a light sauce with savory sausages, mushrooms, roasted garlic, and truffle oil topped with pecorino and pepper flakes. The dish was refreshing, filling, and more than satisfying. My friend had the porkchop which looked tender and I'm sure tasted wonderful. Regarding prices, the prices did indeed reflect the quality of food. Theres was no getting around that, but It was worth it in my opinion. Check this place out, if you have never been.

If you're willing to wait despite having a reservation, don't mind crappy service including management ignoring complaints, want to overpay, and are OK with occasionally getting food poisoning, maybe Tutti Mangia is for you.

I have occasionally had very good food here. But it's not consistent and certainly not worth the price. We used to consider this our special occasion restaurant, however after the last few times we've been there, we've decided to find a new restaurant. Mostly it's the service - I have gotten food poisoning here before though (and somehow decided to come back!! I should've known then).

On the night I got food poisoning, possibly from a steak entree or the vegetables served with it, the waitress forgot about our order, meaning we sat an extra 40 minutes before we finally said something. She also spilled sparkling wine all over my husband that she was pouring for the table next to us. The table next to us bought us a dessert and some drinks (nice of them). We got an apology from the waitress but that was it. I would think that those two incidents would make her try a little bit harder to provide good service - nope. We waited a very long time for our check as well. I was sick the next day.

The last time we went to Tutti Mangia, it was shortly before the holidays. It was packed. We had called ahead and made a reservation for 7pm. When we got there the table was not ready. We were ushered to the bar, where no seats were available. We saw other people (possibly with reservations) seated immediately after entering. After 40-45 minutes of waiting (WITH A RESERVATION), we finally asked a manager if this was normal. I suppose he apologized - but not really. Nor did the hostesses. One group of four who came in 10 minutes after us were seated before us. A group that came in 10 minutes before we were seated also were seated at the same time as us at a four-top table (so seating the four before us made no sense - they could've seated us first since we had been there longer and had a reservation). At that point we were furious that we had made a reservation and still had to wait 40-45 minutes despite others with (or without) reservations getting seated at the same time. We waited 10-15 minutes for a waiter to come. When the waiter came to the table next to us (to attend to the people that arrived 10 minutes before we were seated), we had enough. We left. I told the hostesses, and the manager who was standing next to them, that this was unacceptable and we would not be back. They half-hardheartedly apologized. Obviously, our business is not important to them.

As someone who used to work in the service industry, if you approach a manager, the manager should actually try to get you seated more quickly, alert your waiter of the time you waited despite having a reservation so that the waiter tries to make up for it, AND offer you some sort of complimentary item. This is expected in fine dining - not passing someone off onto the bar, where there are no seats, making them wait 40-45 minutes past their RESERVATION TIME, seating people before them who may or may not have had a reservation, and then neglecting to even come to the...

My friend and i had heard about this place from his parents. we ordered 2 soups (special), a mushroom appetizer (special), and two of the three specials offered that evening (Jan 20th,2020). we also ordered a bottle of Paso Robles Red Zinfandel. The wine came tasted great, the soups came tasted great, our meals came and tasted great. we thought the appetizer would come out before the meal but it did not so we just didn't mention anything because we were being easy with the waitress and had our mains in front of us. overall great food and great wine. when our bill came we noticed that we had been charged $66 for our bottle of wine instead of $40. our waitress brought the manager over so we could discuss. We came to find that the waitress had brought the wrong bottle of wine. the manager showed us the correct wine that we ordered then said "you drank it you buy it". Both bottles said Paso Robles on them (i had never ordered either bottle of wine so i was not educated in the look of the bottles but both said Paso Robles on them so i didn't second guess when it was bought to the table). We then mentioned that we never got the Mushroom appetizer, not to get it off our bill but to show that there were two major mistakes in the evening. The manager then said "you had the chance to tell me and you didn't". so in the end our food was great but our experience was as disappointing as it gets for a over all customer experience. My opinion is that after spending $156 for two people that the waitress needed more education on the menu and the manager needed to recognize the waitress's mistakes and try to make things right so that we would be return customers. To top everything off i called and left a message the next morning to speak to a owner or GM to discuss what had happened and that i was disappointed in the customer experience. I still have not received a call back. Ive worked in the business and know the value of customer service. Unfortunately we did not get it here and i will not be returning to this...

This is a great little restaurant in the heart of the Claremont Village. My wife and I have eaten there more than a dozen times since we have lived in Claremont. It is a nice little Italian restaurant that is trying very hard to be casual fine dining or at least upscale Italian. The food, I would have to say, is above average for the most part. I have had few dishes in which I did not, at least, enjoy if not, really enjoyed them. The ingredients and creative use of Italian flavors is very good. The chef really does a good job with the flavors, plating and ingredients in almost every dish on the menu, keeping with the rustic Italian element that his menu reflects.

Where I think this restaurant falls a little short is in the ambiance/decor and the service. The service is not that bad, but it is nothing special. The people are not exceptionally nice, nor are they rude. We have sometimes encountered hostesses and wait-staff that treat us like they really don't want us to be there or they may not want to be working there. Either way, it is a little annoying when you are paying above average prices. Also, the ambiance is ok, but not great and the decor is old and looks old. Not old in the sense of "old tuscan" or "antique Italian" which would be appropriate, but more like "used-restaurant-furniture" and carpet old.

The small negatives aside, it is a nice place to come and have a casual dining experience, with above average Italian food and wine. I would not recommend it for a very special occasion or if you want to...
