(Copied this to the top as this is what matters, not Sierras attitude) Despite her, the breakfast was fantastic, good sized portions , blueberry pancakes filled with berries, great chicken fried steak, eggs, will definitely go back maybe she'll smile next time, or, maybe she'll move on to a job at the post office where those people tend to work. I gave service 4 stars BECAUSE of one person, Sierra. I don't know what was wrong in her day but if you let her she will ruinn your breakfast with her her obvious disdain for the clientele and her job. She did it to us 4 times, we watched her do it to a man picking up a to go order who has the nerve to all for butter and syrup, we sat at the counter, which when we first got there they said, "the counter is open seating" but the only seat was by the door and it was cold so we decided to wait the 10 mins for a booth. We were the only ones waiting at this time. Then some people got up at the far end of the counter away from the door and smiling Sierra has stepped up to the counter and we asked if we could take those seats at the counter and take our name off the wait. She said, no, you can't, you have to wait ..... So, Sierra, since I'm guessing you will either read this or be shown it, my wife and I are 20 year private chefs and have been in service for a long time. I immediately went to to the next LOVELY lady that came behind the counter and asked can we, sit, counter, name off wait list, she says "yes, of course, please help yourself". Then Sierra comes around sees us sitting there and just glares. We tried to engage her, cheer her up, after she was rude to the people sitting next to us we heard her say 'i moved here from NY when I was 12", I'm from NY, grew up there and I KNOW how rude NY'ers can be. But your in service, and you either pool tips or your stupid because that behavior will affect your tips, period. She came around and I said to her in my best NYorker accent "did I hear you say your from NY"? She turns and as she walks away said "no, I'm from Arizona. " My wife and I have had to fire many people over the years and we were having a conversation about "leave your problems at home or stay home with them, don't bring them to work". Right as she came back over and was getting some things from under the counter. I know she heard us and she knew we meant her, she in no way tried to hide it . My advice, let her read this and send her home with a warning . If this was our staff I would be so embarrassed if a heard they misbehaved this way, I would send them home. She should be in the back washing dishes not up with guests, she can let her anger out on dirty dishes. It's not fair to the ABSOLUTELY GREAT STAFF YOU HAVE THERE TO SUFFER ON THEIR TIPS FOR ONE BAD APPLE. Despite her, the breakfast was fantastic, good sized portions , blueberry pancakes filled with berries, great chicken fried steak, eggs, will definitely go back maybe she'll smile next time, or, maybe she'll move in to a job at the post office where those people tend to work. PS, we spent $54, $70 with tip. All this and she WASN'T...
Read moreMy son 19 months old and I came for some breakfast As We were sitting in a front booth. Their busboy advised the waitress to sit us in the last booth so we followed her. If i had known it was next to the restrooms i would of said NO.. But this is the first time going here. We sat and ordered their breakfast special of the day diced ham and egg with hash brown. I asked if i can substitute the hash browns for fries. She said "sure there is no problem". (I have a toddler, they like finger food so i thought ham and fries will be his breakfast). As we were waiting a few clients passes to enter the restroom. But as they started to have a line. A lady decides to sit on our booth to wait for the restroom. but she asked and started conversing with us. you can tell my son enjoyed her company and was laughing. A few minutes after another lady sits again. Without asking and she is on her phone and never even apologize for intruding on my booth. My son was sitting next to me there was an open seat in front of us. That doesn't mean its an open invitation on my table. Well we finally got our order and they bring me ham and egg with hash brown. Im thinking (NOOOO IM GOING TO WAIT LONGER FOR THE FOOD) Now I'm trying everything to keep my son entertained. I mentioned it to the waitress and she responds (we ran out of fries im sorry. ) now I'm thinking what is my son going to eat? He doesn't like egg and i have tried giving him hash brown before and not successful in eating it.. Then the waitress tells me but we do have French fries if you want... Im like WHAT, ISN'T FRIES AND FRENCH FRIES THE SAME THING!!!!.. ..... She tells me "no fries are the thick stake fries opposed to french fries are the skinny long ones"..wth.. Omg. OMG i just needed finger food for my toddled.. She brings me a plate of FRENCH FRIES in substitution of the hash brown. I thought that's what i had asked in the first place. My son was a happy camper with his fries and ham. Food was tasty. Yes we would go again but next time not sitting in...
Read moreI wanna preface this review with no ill intent purely as a critic based on personal experince. Me and my wife love walking down the claremont downtown area and happen to come across this diner, at the time we were curious and hungry so we decided to try this place out. We were seated about 10 minutes into our wait time and a waitress comes to take our order, about 5 minutes being seated on the right corner of the restaurant next to a window with a few flies bothering us, we had gotten our utencils. Upon examination i noticed my spoon was dirty albeit it was an old spoon so its understandable if it had weird markings or discoloration, however what i saw was some dried out stain which i had then asked our waitress to please change it for us, she proceeded to gaslight me about the utencils being old and that there was nothing wrong with them. This bothered me because i asked for a change in utencils not talk-back, regardless our food had arrived and we ate it up although i cant remember much about it we did not visit again until 2024, we did notice a change in the diners interior which can be appreciated as the old one was dull. We decided to give it a 2nd chance a few times we dined and were not impressed, food was alright my wife was okay with the breakfast she would order while i wasnt impressed with my food, the service varys as some waitresses were awesome but some do not have a sense of hospitality or check back on the customers they seat.
Although the restaurant is very small, the wait times arent terrible but the lack of room between seating and lack of customer care (e.g asking for a cup of coffee or anything extra and not receiving anything) food quality being okay, i decided to not come here again but do wish the restaurant success and improvement as it has so much potential...
