Nestled in the heart of Claremont, Petiscos offers a delightful blend of Mexican and Portuguese flavors in a relaxed, inviting atmosphere. The restaurant’s charming outdoor seating area, reminiscent of a cozy backyard, provides a perfect setting for a laid-back hangout with friends or family. The ambiance is further enhanced by rustic decor and ambient lighting, creating a warm and welcoming environment. The menu boasts a variety of delectable dishes that cater to diverse palates. During my visit, I savored the fish tacos, which were a harmonious blend of fresh ingredients and zesty flavors. The street corn, seasoned to perfection, complemented the meal beautifully. For those seeking plant-based options, Petiscos offers dishes featuring Impossible meat, ensuring that vegetarians and vegans have satisfying choices. The beverage selection, including refreshing Mexican beers and well-crafted wines, pairs seamlessly with the flavorful fare. The staff at Petiscos are attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall dining experience. Their knowledge of the menu and willingness to accommodate special requests reflect a commitment to customer satisfaction. Whether you’re in the mood for a casual meal or a leisurely evening under the stars, Petiscos provides an exceptional culinary experience in Claremont.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Petiscos Clairmont, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a charming blend of modern and rustic decor that makes you feel right at home. The menu offers a delightful array of Portuguese-inspired tapas, each dish bursting with flavor and creativity. I particularly enjoyed the Bacalhau à Brás, a traditional salt cod dish that was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The Piri-Piri Chicken was another standout, with just the right amount of spice to tantalize the taste buds. The service was impeccable, with the staff being both attentive and knowledgeable. They were more than happy to provide recommendations and ensure that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. Overall, Petiscos Clairmont is a gem that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique and delicious dining experience. Whether you're a fan of Portuguese cuisine or simply looking to try something new, this restaurant is sure to impress.

With a deceptively small and unassuming entrance you come across some chalkboards and a friendly person taking your order through a window. Even though it looks nothing like it, it felt like ordering from a good food truck. After you order, you move back where the seating is. It’s outdoor, family bbq style is a perfect pair to their eclectic take on Mexican favorites. Classic street tacos served with marinated meat or fish. They’re more expensive than the 3 for $5 food truck ones, but they are larger and have bolder flavors. Total was about $10 per person. It certainly is a good place for fresh and tasty food. I wasn’t a fan of all the salsas— I tend to be a purist when it comes to tomatillo salsa— but I was in the minority and folks were happy to finish mine.

This food here is damn good. Some other Yelp reviewer started their review like that and I felt like plagiarizing. But really, it's good. And the ambiance, service, and street food vibe here all around makes Petiscos a place to come back to.

I got the John Pollo which at the time of this review, is "roasted chicken, creamy tomatillo sauce, refried black beans, pickled red onion, queso, and fresco. You can see it in the attached photos to my review.

This was a work lunch, so there are other photos you'll see as part of my review including carnitas tacos and fish tacos. With that said, keep in mind because the concept is around small bites, the tacos are pretty small, so if you have a big appetite, you may want to double or even triple the number of tacos you'd normally get at other places.

I ordered a coke as well, which came in a 12 oz can as opposed to from a soda fountain machine.

There is free WiFi, but as I was on a work lunch, I didn't get a chance to test the network, plus it required a password and the staff appeared busy -- This place does get pretty popular around lunch hour.

Service was slower than most other taco places, but since there is only one person working in the kitchen, it's to be expected.

Finally, there is plenty of seating here and the music is good. Some songs that came up during my visit here include but are not limited to:

Cluster by Porcelain Raft Lazuli by Beach House Burning by The Whitest Boy Alive

So if that gives you an idea of what kind of music plays at Petiscos, there's your answer.

All in all, great experience,...

Sad to say I’ve given up on this place. Been here a handful of times since it’s a good location, nice patio and decent food. However the service is not just terribly slow, but also lacking in general courtesy and common sense. Waited in the rain for almost an hour for our food last year while our kids went out of their minds and there was literally no one else on the patio. The “side tortilla” that we requested for our kids taco to help split it up came out 30 minutes after the taco itself. Okay so they had a bad day…short staffed for sure.

Came back this morning for a breakfast burrito. Over $16 after tip. Lots of people working, a few on the patio and no line. Waited over 20 minutes for the burrito with no “thanks for waiting” or update on the order or anything like that. Once it came out, we asked if we could have a few chips since we decided to stay and eat. The server hesitated long enough that we understood the answer was no. Salsa bar was practically empty anyways.

Eaten at many Mexican restaurants and it’s really rare to not get complimentary chips, even if it’s just a small handful on your plate. Considering their long wait times, a few chips would go a long way in keeping customers happy.

Just disappointed in the lack of customer service. Not worth the wait...
