The Burger Stop — Restaurant in Clarkston

Amazing review for The Burger Stop in Clarkston. I have driven by this place thousands of times and never thought to go in. I fully regret that now. First of all, their staff is incredible!! The owner is so friendly. He gave both of my kids and myself a free pineapple soft serve cone to try, which was delicious omg!! And he makes it himself! Then while I was ordering, I was trying to get my son to get something because he had told me he didn't want anything. He loves chili so I told him they have chili, he still didn't want anything. A few minutes later the owner came out with a small bowl of chili with cheese on top for him to have. Free. Again. My son loved it so much and then had me order him a full bowl of it 🤣 The fries are ACTUAL sliced potatoes and deep fried, just like you would do at home. And their burgers... I can't even say enough about those. I seriously felt like I was eating homemade food! And the portions were huge. They have homemade sauces as well, including a smokey fry sauce 😍 this is now our new favorite place and we will definitely be going again. "Best burger in the valley" might be a stretch. Do you remember that scene in Elf where Buddy takes Jovie to the world's best coffee? That's how I felt about eating this burger. To be fair, I haven't tried any of the other burgers in Clarkston. However, the burger community would be greatly lacking if the Burger Stop burger was truly the best burger the valley has to offer. The meat was a little dry and overcooked, but it was tasty enough. The menu seemed adventurous and had a lot of different options.

The dining area was a little goofy and had a lot of trinkets everywhere, which made for an eclectic vibe. The owner gave all the kids in the lobby "a taste of Disneyland" (free pineapple sorbet) which was generous and great service. The American dream all the way. A retired Veteran and his family from wife to kids run this place. The food was AMAZING and the shakes were the best I've ever had. Order at the window but Mamasan brings the food to your table. Made to order, everything is fresh and delicious. The peanut oil they fry in has a very high dollar point making the cheese curds crispy but not "greasy". The older boys run the kitchen and the younger daughter mosied in to whip up the epic shakes. The vibe is fun and loving. The atmosphere is eclectic and there are odes to family and their journey all over the place. We were so hungry and it was so good, there where not time for pictures!
