First impressions go a long way. Lobby was nicely appointed. The adjacent step down bar was bright and appointed in a contemporary style. One could easily draw a conclusion that the rooms would be quite similar. Google maps shows this property next to the river, it was not. Appears as it may have been an old apartment/condo complex refurbished into a hotel.
Booked easily thru Hotels.com website. Check-in went smoothly. There is a $50 incidental room fee that is charged separately upon check-in. Not quite sure what incidentals other than the bar, one would have.
Basic room, no frills. Mini Keurig with a couple pods, no sugar or creamer. They added a mini fridge/microwave in a separate type of credenza that clearly didn't fit. Beds were too soft and took four flimsy pillows to make one decent one. Bedding consisted of a sheets and a duvet, no blankets. Bathroom had been redone. Not much water pressure. They did provide ample towels. Thermostat on wall with old wall attached unit in-suite. VERY noisy, rattled all night, sounded like train.
Bathroom had burnt electrical odor. Culprit was portable hair dryer. My Son is an electrician and was concerned by the outdated GFI. Advised front desk. Unable to move us to another room. They had NO maintenance staff working or ON CALL over a BUSY Holiday weekend. Hotel was SOLD OUT. Lighting in the bathroom was challenging to say the least. Checked the rest of the room, found exposed HOT wires by the electrical window shade. No hotel directory, local guide or even a Bible. Didn't rest all night, maybe we could have slept in the truck and felt safer. Couldn't find other accomodations due to holiday. Breakfast was not complimentary.
Departure smooth as arrival. This property is part of a national chain. Thought it would have the same standards. Perhaps the Pandemic could be to blame, making Management lack oversight. Personally it's times like this one needs to rise above and be present to stand out above their peers. This room cost $250 with tax & fees. Absolutely, NOT worth it. We should have went camping. Don't waste your money.
One last NOTE- no photos to share as our phones did not charge all night due to...
Read moreWe've been loyal patrons of this hotel, having enjoyed two pleasant stays before. The location is fantastic, right on the Snake River, providing a breathtaking view. However, our recent visit left us with mixed feelings.
On previous stays, we cherished the great breakfast at Quay and the two complimentary drinks in the evening. Unfortunately, this time, we were disappointed to find out that there was no complimentary breakfast, and we didn't receive any drink coupons. It appears the amenities may have changed since our last visit, and this caught us off guard.
We didn't thoroughly check before booking, but it's worth noting for future guests that there's no coffee in the lobby, except for the Keurig in the room. While there's a coffee stand in the parking lot, the service was a bit slow. It's possible that changes were made due to COVID or ownership shifts.
The hotel itself is still beautiful, with great views and convenient walking trails. Being across from Walmart is a plus for forgotten items. The rooms seem to have been updated, but our initial impression was dampened by a lingering smell of unwashed hair when we entered.
On a positive note, the bedding was clean, and the abundance of towels was appreciated. The shower amenities – soap, conditioner, and body wash – smelled pleasant. The room featured black-out curtains, but they only came down halfway, which was inconvenient for a ground-level parking lot view. We had to use extra pillows to block visibility.
The room offered useful amenities like a fridge and microwave, and the storage options were handy for longer stays. Plenty of outlets and USB plugs made charging devices convenient. However, the bed was too soft for our liking, causing an uncomfortable sinking feeling.
In conclusion, while the hotel maintains some of its charm and has updated certain aspects, changes in amenities, the smell in the room, and the comfort of the bed were notable drawbacks on this visit. It might be wise to check recent reviews and inquire about amenities before booking...
   Read moreHello
I recently booked a stay in one of your hotels and was not very happy about it. When i booked the room i paid a good amount of money for my trip. I have heard many great things about your hotels. The room that i booked was a river view room with a hot tub. And we were expecting it to be a great experience. Unfortunately that was not the case. We got in the room the sliding glass door was unlocked for one and wouldnt want to lock without fighting it a bit. We were on ground level so if we opened the curtain everyone could see us in our bed or in the tub. Thats not the privacy i would expect. The hot tub scaulded us a bit. If we closed the curtain it closes almost all the way but still left a gap for people to be able to see in our room. There were not enough towels, and i had to find people to get extra towels, i figured someone would come by and give us those since the cleaning was not taking place. There was a half roll of toilet paper that ran out at midnight and put us in a very big embarrassing moment. There was no laundry bag anywhere in sight. No paper or pens around. The bathroom door inhad to force shut because it would not shut and lock. The carpet was dirty. There were numerous spiders throughout the room as well as other bugs because we got bug bites even though the doors were closed. A landscaper went right next to our window numerous times though he did a good job. Not to mention the view of the river. The view we were supposed to have all we could see was a golf coarse with people hitting golf balls right infront of our window. We could not see the river which is what we paid for. There were 6 people in our party and 3 rooms. Not one single river view which is false advertisement. We were not happy spending that much and not getting what we paid good hard earned money for. We do not go on vacation much and we expect quality when we pay for it. I believe this needs to be dealt with.
Thank...
