*updated review from 5 stars* After years of being faithful regulars Adrian the "General manager" who then corrected himself as an assistant manager when I addressed his lack of professionalism both snickered, and sarcastically handled me calling with a couple order issues. We will absolutely not be coming back, and have ordered our same meal for several years to have it not only $22 dollars more tonight but entirely wrong. He challenged me, he cut me off, he said "like I said" and "well it's not wrong" so many times I lost count. We had an extra entre added that we did not order, we had a missing order and was not given side of cheese for nachos but a Pico cup of it. He was rude, unprofessional, and when asked to speak to the general manager laughing while telling me he was all I had. The general manager "had a baby a few months ago and comes and goes and has no schedule, so if you have an issue you can talk to me." I asked several times for a time frame and eventually he said I might catch her calling back on a weekend. The order had no quality check, or quality to it. We are disappointed as this has been our go to once a week. He said best he could do was refund the entre that was "accidentally" added. When I told him that wasn't taking care of our entire $70 order he had the audacity to laugh and say well. That's how he responded, ended his sentence and phone call. Looks like we will need to find a new place, because this is entirely too much to excuse for a mere refund of something we never ordered and just eat the remaining $60 in food that was poor. Including pictures of the cheese given for the nachos, while the nachos look good in theory, what are they with enough cheese for 3 chips. The side of beans was rudely said to be included inside the entre, as seen this wasn't even the normal amount given. Also the side of chicken that was ordered was not seasoned as usual, not a big deal nor even mentioned but still disappointed. Would like an actual manager with customer service to respond, thanks.

El Toro Mexican restaurant is located on Ft. Campbell Blvd in Clarksville Tennessee. There are so many Mexican restaurants, so it is hard for a restaurant to differentiate itself from the mass of others. El Toro does not do that as it once did. Prior to Covid, El Toro featured a Mexican buffet. While the food on the buffet was not always the absolute greatest, the variety of Mexican fare and novelty of a Mexican buffet more than made up for a few less than stellar offerings. Imagine my disappointment to find out the El Toro buffet is gone. With the buffet gone, El Toro is like the other thousands of Mexican restaurants in Clarksville Tennessee. Personally, I feel like the quality and taste of food from El Toro is better than most other Mexican restaurants. The ground beef in the tacos had an actual flavor, unlike the bland offerings of others. The salsa had a spicy flavor. Unlike the no taste salsa of other Mexican restaurants. I have lamented before of the bland Americanized flavors of local Mexican restaurants. El Toro features more authentic Mexican flavors and spices than you will find elsewhere. While I liked the food, the service was atrocious. Perhaps the particular employee was having an off day. It happens. Just be cognizant of the issue of poor service. One other negative aspect of El Toro was the gas quality of the restrooms. It was bad. While you don't eat in the bathroom, how clean and sanitary are the employees/food prep areas if the bathrooms are in this condition. While I found the food to be excellent at El Toro Mexican restaurant, without the buffet, it shall remain a pass to me.

My husband had been wanting to eat at El Toro De Don Jose for a while, we decided to stop and give this location a try. Keep in mind, my husband and I share from our plates. The following is based on both our experiences tasting both dishes ordered. My husband had the following: Jalisco Special Strips of grilled chicken, steak and shrimp cooked with sauteèd medley vegetables, served over rice covered in cheese sauce. We noticed it said 'medley vegetables', which we've never had in Jalisco and thought we would give it a try. It was as if these vegetables were used as a 'filler'. We're use to having bell peppers and onions, and found the medley vegetables to be a rather odd ingredient. Needless to say, we won't order that again. I had the following: Chimichanga A flour tortilla stuffed with chopped beef or shredded chicken, then deep-fried to a golden brown topped with cheese sauce. Served with rice, beans, lettuce, pico de gallo and sour cream $8.25 Grilled chicken or Steak $8.99 Shrimp $9.25 (Filled with bell peppers, onions and tomatoes). I ordered with chopped beef. Overall it was a nice plate, I just couldn't get past the overwhelming taste of salt in the dish/meat. The prices are average for the type of food in our area, staff were pleasant, and we had to let the wait staff know menus had food smeared inside and outside pages. With other options for Mexican food in our area, we'll be going elsewhere.

DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT! THE MANAGEMENT HAS NO CLUE ON HOW TO RUN A RESTAURANT. THEY DON’T EVEN STAY AT THE RESTAURANT HALF THE TIME TO HANDLE CUSTOMER CONCERNS AND ISSUES!

Instead of management owning up to having badly trained and unaware customer service in this restaurant and trying to keep my business as a customer by reaching out to me and resolving the issue to make it right like a professionally trained manager would I doubt this will ever happen since no management was ever even present in the restaurant and not even on the premises according to the waitress at the time.

The manager will probably just respond back y ranting off about something he knows nothing about just taking the word of a badly trained waitress that had very little attention skills when it came to serving her customer.

Here’s a question for everyone. Who goes into a restaurant expecting to be greeted and have their food order taking in a timely manner and not having to track down your waitress 10 minutes later after she has still not even check on you to see if you are ready to order yet? I know everyone

Trust me if you go out to this restaurant you will have the probably end up having worst customer service experience ever! Furthermore, guest what MANAGEMENT DOESN’T EVEN CARE BECAUSE THEIR NOT EVEN THERE ON THE PREMISES HALF THE TIME OR IS THEIR ANYONE ELSE WHO IS IN CHARGE!

Upon entering into the restaurant on my lunch break I was seated. I was the only customer in their at the time. My server brought me over chips and never returned to take my order.

After 10 minutes of waiting around and other people’s orders being taken I finally got someone’s attention to come over. I reminded my server I had been waiting for 10 minutes. She stated she had been waiting on the other individual eating with me to arrive.

I let her know that it had been 10 minutes of waiting and if she had came back and checked with me without me having to track her down I could had let her know that.

I then asked for the manager and I was told that the manager is not here in the restaurant at the moment which I thought seemed very odd for a manager not to even be at the store during business hours. I asked when would he return and I was told they didn’t know.

Nevertheless, this whole experience was the worst customer service experience in a...

Some of the things we tried to order for our drinks they were out of—not a problem we ordered something else. We all ordered our food and my son prefers a cheese burger with fries which was on the kids menu. When bringing us our food there were things we asked for—limes for our tacos, salsa, and ketchup. She said she would be back with it. When she came back she let us know there was no ketchup. She asked if my son wanted ranch—he said no thank you. After trying to eat the cheese burger and fries without ketchup he said it was too dry and didn’t want to eat it. When receiving our check I asked if there was any way we would be able to get some type of discount for the cheese burger. I wasn’t even asking her to comp the meal. She said she had to ask her manager. She came back and said the manager had to call and ask the owner. I was a little caught off guard. You’re talking about $4 discount at max and you have to call the owner to make that decision? When she came back she said they were unable to discount it because it was a condiment problem and not a food problem. I was confused when does a cheeseburger not come with ketchup and that’s okay? I let her know it was a food problem because without the ketchup it was dry. She then said “I did say it came with just cheese and nothing else.” First of all she never made that comment, and if she had said at the beginning they didn’t have ketchup we would have ordered something else. Before that comment was made, I felt bad for the server because I understood it was out of her control. I also thought it wasn’t her responsibility to come out to let me know they weren’t discounting the meal—that is the managers job. The way the owner operates this business will eventually run it into the ground. The right thing to do was to comp the whole meal—I wasn’t even asking for that I was asking for a discounted price because they didn’t have the correct condiments to go along with the meal. We will not be going back—there are plenty other Mexican restaurants in the Clarksville area that are locally owned that I would prefer to give...
