You would think that on a Sunday evening at 8:30 at night and much of the restaurant patrons leaving their tables and heading for the exit, that you would expect that the service and quality of your dining experience would be on point as you enter the dining room. Instead the service was slow and the quality of the food should have been much better with all of the aforementioned scenarios considered . Once seated, it took 10minutes to be acknowledged by a waitress and once given our drinks, about another 10 minutes to return to take our orders. Once our soups finally arrived, we had asked for some more breadsticks. We had discovered that we had finished our soup and the breadsticks had still not come yet. Finally our entrees arrived, both at Luke warm temper at best and once again we had asked for the same second round of breadsticks for our entrees and they never came till after we finished our entrees. Never did the waitress ask if we would like another round of drinks during the entire time we were there. Then to notice the manager standing and conversing with some of the servers at one of the P.O.S. stations (Point Of Sale) and not once checking on his patrons in the dining room to see if they needed anything or how their dining experience was going, was pretty much indicative of how this place was being run. As a manager for several full service restaurants in New York such as Red Lobster, Ponderosa Steakhouses, Beefsteak Charlies as well as Burger King, McDonald's and Hardees, such a restaurant experience would be considered unacceptable by my District Manager as well as Corporate as well as the behavior exhibited by the restaurant manager at the time of my dining experience. Needless to say, I guess that restaurants and the management are not required to maintain the same high level of quality and service as once expected back in the 80's and 90's. I have continue to notice this kind of experience in a lot of the big Corporate restaurant chains over the years. I guess that now these big chains have pretty much dominated the market and have squeezed out many of the Mom and Pop local restaurants out of the picture, these kind of experiences are going to be accepted as part of the norm for the traditional dining experience!!! Truely unfortunate for the patrons who spend their hard earned money, expecting a quality dining experience for their money and get a sub par experience instead and which is now considered to be...
Read moreI ate an early dinner here yesterday, around 5 pm, with my son and mother. Everything was as expected until the meals arrived, when mom immediately felt a stomach ache, my son's macaroni and cheese wasn't good (I verified that the macaroni was under cooked), and mine on the contrary was great. So we finished eating and paid like any other patron.
About a half an hour later I realized I had left my wallet next to me in the booth we were sitting in and immediately called Olive Garden to have them retrieve it. I was told the manager was too busy and I needed to call back. I called 30 minutes later, and again...He was too busy, but at least this time she took down my name and number for him to call me back. Nearly two hours go by and I notice a voicemail on my phone which was the manager calling me to let me know that a wallet was found and placed in their safe but not whether or not it was mine. I reached him shortly before closing time, verified that it was mine and he said he would leave a note for the manager today so that I could come and retrieve it.
Upon arrival, I waited about 10 minutes for the manager to arrive with a wallet, and yes it was my wallet. Prior to leaving the premises (as I know better and made sure I was on camera) I verified that all my items were there as they should be. The very first thing I noticed was my cards along the right side of my wallet were not in the correct order (NOT the side my Driver's License was on in case they pulled it out to verify that it was in fact my wallet).
What I saw next made my stomach drop, I opened the area where I keep my cash and there was a single $20 dollar bill there. Prior to my leaving the wallet, I had an older hundred dollar bill, three fifty dollar bills, a few twenties, a couple fives, and a few ones. I immediately asked the manager who was watching me inventory my items if we could review the cameras to determine who had pocketed my money and he said there were no cameras but that my wallet was turned in by a guest.
I started thinking...how could that be if it were simply next to me in the booth, the waiter (Collin) would have had to come back by the table to gather the dishes, and a bus boy would have wiped down the table prior to any "patron" randomly discovering my money, pocketing all of my cash but a $20 and rummaging through my cards...Right? No cameras, nothing from the manager but "I'm...
Read moremy one star review is for the togo and curbside pickup staff. the actual servers and cooks keep up the good work, as far as the togo staff.. fire and rehire. cut the cancer of your branch out. every time i order food togo they either forget something or are just rude. I called for my normal Saturday togo order and was connected with “Italia N.” from the moment she answered the phone you could sense her attitude and got the vibe that she pretty much just hates life. I continued to order, and let me remind you I order ever Saturday. She caught an attitude after I ordered a Bellini tea to go with my sons kids meal and she attempted to charge me extra for the tea but any other week they mark it as a water and type in peach tea which I explained to her. silence on the line as she fixed her mistake. I asked her how many breadsticks would be coming with the order as I wanted to make sure there would be enough for myself and my son. She stated 2 breadsticks any other week they give 4.. so ordered an additional 6. by the end of the call I know she heard me state that she was being rude before disconnecting. When I arrived and the food came out I’m assuming it was the same girl I spoke to on the phone with absolutely no customer service skills or personality. Normally I wouldn’t let any of this bother me but when I got home and found 14 breadsticks in my bag I wanted to come back up there and throw every last one of them at her. Don’t play with peoples money, there was no reason for me to spend extra money and then you wanna be funny by putting 14 breadsticks on the order. -Check#: 78742 Printed On:...
