This was the first time we've ever eaten at this restaurant, upon arriving with my fiance Maria I saw a gentleman about to pull away in his car and on his shirt had the same name as the restaurant, so I quickly asked him how was the food here he surprisingly responded you've never eaten at yaya's I said no I've been in spring Hill since 2014 and my fiance lives around the corner at top of the world we were driving through the shopping center with BJ's and Lowe's and we saw the large signage at the back of the restaurant interestingly enough from frontage road and highway 19 you can see a very large beautiful sign inviting you to this restaurant, the owner got out of his car and said I'm going to make sure your first experience will be wonderful. He came on in we had booth style seating all throughout the restaurant molded seating with tables attached big enough for a family of four per setup many many seats throughout the restaurant very very large inside and upon coming to the counter you can see four to six large grate style grills not sure if they're using radiant burners or some type of charcoal or wood underneath but all the chicken white meat and dark meat is on top of the grills you're immediately attracted to the aroma upon your coming through the doors there's no frying there there's no oils there's no batter on the chicken at all it's all being cooked naturally most of all the flavor was fantastic most any other place you go whether it's Publix Walmart BJ's Costco Sam's club or any of your other chicken houses even the rotisserie chicken places the flavor is always on the outside on the skin or on the batter here at yaya's the flavor is all the way through to your last bite of meat whether it be white or dark, many side dishes as well as sandwiches, salads and soups, ours had four pieces of dark meat between the two of us mashed potatoes pita bread which they also put on the grill and they have their own homemade signature honey butter on the pita bread and adding it also to the mashed potatoes was absolutely delicious everything there is very clean the service is very professional polite and easy to understand the people taking our orders and receiving our food just say we go back again would be an understatement this is our go-to restaurant now for any time we want chicken I can't say enough about how good the chicken tasted years and years ago down in South Florida they had a place called Kenny Rogers roasters and they too instead of putting it on the grill was a rotisserie style after that came Boston market as a copy of Kenny Rogers and many other places sprouted up with similar style that Kenny Rogers roasters but this goes beyond that here Yaya's is cooking openly on the grill great style and simply Delicious, families are gladly welcome as we met a father with his daughter and upon entering the daughter was eating their chicken soup she couldn't stop telling my fiance enough about the food and how delicious it was and boy was she right they say they've been there over 30 years first of the location where Lowe's is and then moving to the front of the out parcel of the shopping center closer to highway 19 I will definitely be telling all my friends especially the ones that love chicken as we do from where I live in spring Hill it's easily Worth to drive one hour to come down and not only eating but taking enough food to go back home with I want to thank yaya's for the opportunity for this review as well as being there all these years as a family business giving the Clearwater area another opportunity to have a high quality meal without spending all the money in your pocket the gentleman I met his name was Nick and you can tell right away very professional in his...

FOOD: While simple, the food is fantastic. The chicken is a must, most people go for the mashed potatos, rice or salad for sides. There is only ranch dressing for the salad and no sauces for the chicken. I’d usually be annoyed by this, but at Yaya’s this is perfectly fine and part of the experience.
FACILITIES: This is an original, vintage 1980s restaurant that looks like a warp to 1984 inside - not worn down or bad, but in cool original well kept way. They could totally use this place for a movie set in the early 1980s.
IMPORTANT: This place is so old school it...
Read moreFirst of all if you like the feeling of a early 90s grandma who doesn't know how to cook restaurant this is the place. The inability to accept card payment but have an atm machine you make money from in fees instead is predatory business practices to say the least. Secondly the restaurant was dead empty. 2 employees. No customers. Very empty feeling. Everything inside stained cigarette smoke yellow. Then when the the only 2 people come in with a 2 pound 3 month old puppy and you deny us service when we obviously were going to seat ourselves so far in the back and away from all your nonexistent customers. Won't be coming back. This place used to be good. Now the chicken and mashed potatoes are as bland as a taco made...
