Raved about this place. Took a friend who had never been here before. Started off with a dirty knife before we even ordered drinks. Ordered a small order of gravy and a biscuit on the side. Received gravy on the side and an open face biscuit saturated in butter and chopped up sausage on it. The girl sat there watching me scrape the sausage off and even asked me why. I told her what I ordered and she insisted that is how they make it. I have ALWAYS gotten a bowl of gravy and a biscuit on the side. She then proceeds to tell me the waitress misunderstood but did not offer to take it back and make it right. I ate half of the biscuit after scarping all the sausage off. It went in the trash and I paid for it.I ordered hard cooked scrambled egg whites and that did not happen either but I ate them. I will not recommend this place not will I return. UPDATE In response to you, When you asked me why I was scraping the sausage off the biscuit and I told you why, you then said to me that was how your biscuits and gravy was made and that is how I have ALWAYS gotten it I ordered biscuits and gravy. I then told you, No I ask for biscuit and a small bowl of gravy. You then told me I have NEVER gotten biscuits and gravy that way before and then you blamed me for the mistake AND then blamed the waitress for her mistake. So I just continued to scrape the sausage off and eat the top half of the biscuit with the bowl of gravy. I was not going to say anything to you about the eggs because I was not going to listen to another excuse as to why my eggs did not get cooked the way I asked AND as I stated above i ate them and paid for EVERYTHING that I ordered even though it was wrong. And this is really very simple. I will not put foot in your restaurant again nor will I suggest your restaurant to...

I've been there several times. The staff is always friendly. They didn't blink when I told them I can't sit at the tall bar tables due to a back problem. The layout is still similar to when it was a Bar Louise, so the comfortable semi-circle booths are still there. I've had several things from their menu, mostly breakfast. The food is very tasty. Portions are generous and everything I've had has been cooked well. I give 4/5 stars because I would like to see some smaller, maybe a la carte options for when I'm not interested in a gigantic meal or when I need something simple. I love, love their pancakes. I love that you can order an omelet with 1, 2 or 3 eggs. But it's still a lot of food. I went with family when I wasn't feeling very hungry. Would have loved something like a good oatmeal with fruit or granola/yogurt etc. They have nothing like that for breakfast. I just got an English muffin and fruit - the fruit was OK but not worth it. They cook almost entirely from scratch, they have options like turkey sausage and lots of veggies for those omelets. If you're ready to indulge - pancakes the size of dinner plates. A word of advice. If you order something that comes with a mini maple-bacon cream puff - eat it first. You'll be too full to enjoy it if you wait until the end of your meal. Also, they can get a little soggy if they sit on steaming food - which is a shame because they are delish. I wish they would have raw sugar available for coffee but you can't have it all. I'll keep going back. Not many places in the area that serve such a good breakfast all day long and keep the quality consistent. Parking is a challenge - but that's true for all of the restaurants in that corner of the mall. Definitely...

This is our second time enjoying the Bacon Street Diner, the first was 12 months ago. I say this, because I can't believe my wife and I waited a year to comeback. The food is wonderful, a year ago, I had the Western Bacon Burger, and it was outstanding! My wife had the Mighty Chicken Sandwich, and said it was the best she has had in a very long time. Then life kicked in and it took us a year to get back (we only live in St. Pete, I know... it is sad).

Anyhow, let's get to last night. My wife and I were once again in the area and quickly found our way to Bacon Street, and boy are we glad. We sat at the bar, where Zeke took care of us. I order an Old Fashion and my wife had a Chardonnay. We ordered a side of Bacon Slaw (Awesome!), it had a perfect coleslaw taste but better (BACON!). Zeke talked about the specials (very good selection, but I focused on the Pastrami special, and I'm glad I did. My wife chose the Bacon Grilled Cheese Club, and said it was simply the best she has ever had. The portion size is large (we took half of it home that evening... it didn't last long once we arrived home, and she said, it even taste better). Finally, we ordered the Apple Crumble Pie to go. We had that this morning, what a wonderful way to start your morning.

Bottom Line: I highly recommend Bacon Street Diner, my wife and I won't wait so long to come back either, I'm looking forward to making a special trip to try their breakfast menu, it looked just wonderful.

One other thing. I noticed that most of the staff working were there a year ago. That says something else as well. That says the restaurant is managed well and you can tell. Good on ya,...

First impressions walking in was a very comfortable upscale diner with a full bar. We were quickly greeted by our server and the manager who helped us navigate the menu, as my fiancé is vegetarian. Once she decided this is where she wanted to eat we were promptly sat in a cozy round booth. Our server was top notch, complimenting my fiancés shirt and letting us know about the specials and helping to craft the perfect dinner for my partner in crime. She landed on the Classic Alfredo and added a chopped up impossible patty to her pasta. The pasta came out great, the Alfredo sauce was expertly crafted and you could really taste real Parmesan in the sauce giving it a beautifully complex flavor that clung tightly to the noodles. The seasoned impossible patty added an extra layer of meaty richness that actually paired with the pasta quite nicely! Now it is in my opinion that a diners quality can only be judged on how good their Reuben sandwich is. I was happy to see one on the menu and even happier with the result. Beautifully buttery toasted rye sandwiched creamy and tangy Russian dressing along with sour and crunchy sauerkraut balancing out the salty and perfectly seasoned and cooked corned beef! It was everything you want in a corned beef sandwich. It also came topped with a super cute and delicious maple bacon cream puff which was a great touch! This is definitely going on date night rotation.

Wow! Whatever waffle Tower bacon concoction I had at this place was absolutely phenomenal. It was gluten free and I couldn't believe I ate food like that at what appears to be a chain restaurant. And not only that, we had incredible service by Zeke who was accommodating, kind, genuine ,and even wrote our names down to remember them. Thank you for catering to people who have digestive issues. I hardly ever get to eat gluten-free waffles at restaurants and this was a wonderful surprise. My wife had the same kind of tower bacon dish but with pancakes. Both of us were really happy with our food. And the little potatoes on the side we got was a smart addition. It was probably Overkill but we ended up eating a lot of our food. It was a gamble to pick this place because it was at a mall, but what a great choice it was! Afterwards we were able to walk around the mall to walk off all that food lol. But wow we can't wait to come back and try this place again! Now if they would just get those wonderful pies and desserts to be gluten-free they would be hitting a total home run! I'm sure that there's a way to come up with at least one chocolate cream pie that's got a gluten-free crust right? LOL thank you Zeke and the rest of the crew at this restaurant for a wonderful breakfast.

My wife and I had gone to Ruth Chris the night before this. We paid $160 and were not impressed. The service was terrible. So it was awesome to be greeted by Heather S, our server. A HUUGGEEE welcoming smile and, as my wife stated, gorgeous eyes. She was completely tuned in to my wife's gluten allergy/need to eat gluten free and which food was best for her. The GF selection here is not only amazing, but it's stuff celiac sufferers don't typically get access to. Like a dedicated fryer for fries! And waffles, and lots of other delicious goodies!!!! The loaded mash potatoes are excellent, and the owner (Danielle) made my wife a coconut cream pie for dessert for us to take. We don't usually take dessert with us, as a matter of fact I always finish my meal and eat dessert at the restaurant. But this was the first time in about 20 years that I didn't even finish half of my meal - biscuits and bacon/sausage gravy! What a huge meal! Split that bad boy with someone if you get it LOL. Can't say enough about this place, other than we bought the T-Shirt because we know we are returning frequently. And we'll request Heather S as often as possible. Unbeatable server. :)
