Let me start by saying I do not review many businesses, and generally not food, however... So glad I accidentally stumbled upon Leo's BBQ in the Montrose Market, in downtown Clermont! What an unexpected find!! Happened to be in downtown for a business appointment and decided to stop in to see what the "market" was all about, only to find it's a collective of small, local dining businesses.
The menu at Leo's immediately caught my eye, because I love bbq! And there was just something different about it (added bonus that the food is prepped right in front of you, so I could see others' lunch being prepared). When I asked if the brisket was lean (many places it tends to be dry) or moist (many places will give you basically fat trimmings), Leo said whichever I wanted. I could see the beautiful slab of brisket right in front of me when he pulled it out piping hot, and with no fatty ends in sight!
I ordered the bbq brisket sandwich, which comes with "Special Fries," which turn out to be the best, thin, crispiest fries, with a seasoned aioli sauce and fresh shredded parmesan cheese on top - SO amazing, and the flavor match with the bbq brisket and incredible bbq sauce - can't even describe how pleasing it was.
I don't eat out much, but when I do, I really enjoy good, flavorful (and whenever possible, at least somewhat healthy) food! And this was literally all that! Perfectly crisped hoagie roll, tender, juicy brisket, cheese, an amazing bbq sauce... and those special fries. ALL GOOD!!! I enjoyed every bit of my splurge for lunch (again, since I don't eat out as much as I used to in my more youthful days).
I'm not often in downtown Clermont, but I can tell you every time I am (or maybe I'll just have to find an excuse to be now), I can't wait to try the next item...
Read moreLeo's BARBEQUE is a follow-up of a famous BBQ restaurant. So we had very high expectations. I will consider that everything is new. It is a kind of 'order at the counter and pickup somewhere else' . Nice tables and chairs. No waitresses fully tattooed. We ordered ribs and chicken all with 2 sides. Via a very loud technical system are you called that your food is ready. I was used here to cut my meat (ribs) with a spoon. But with my plastic knife it was almost impossible. See video. Leo , the owner came to my table to ask if everything was OK? I mentioned that was a try out, but the result was very negative for the ribs. The chicken was perfect. All the meat was very well spiced. He told me that he had not yet permission to use a smoker. He is excused. Leo offered me to try the Brisket and gave a spoon to cut it with the spoon. I am convinced that next time the meat will be excellent. I will come again. Hope the number announcing...
Read moreFirst time here and won’t be last. Everything was AMAZING! We ordered take out and everything was tasty and fresh! The burger with the friend onions was different but I loved it. The coleslaw is like home made, really good too! Chicken wings are sooooo crispy!! The steak was right on point! The only thing I will not get next time is the black beans. Sorry but I’m Cuban and that’s one of our main dishes, black beans do not mix well with bbq sauce or smoke flavor. They smelled weird. But everything else was out of this world! We were also served fast. When we got there it was almost closing time and the guy who took our phone order was so nice that he let us place the order with him because their online system was closed. And that was an awesome decision because the restaurant gained a customer with a large family that eats out frequently! Totally...
