The Local Grille & Tavern — Restaurant in Clermont

I was eager to try The Local as it was branded as a complete renovation and now an upscale golf course restaurant. Unfortunately it was just much of the same. The renovations were minimal, there was the usual Saturday night music bingo happening. Although the website mentions great cocktails there was no drink list or wine list given. The owner was unable to tell me the types of wines they had even though they only had 5 different types, none of which I would consider upscale. The burrata was very good but the mozzarella wheels were burnt and not edible. The burger was good however the fries were again very overcooked. The steak was tasty but like the fries over seasoned with pepper. Unfortunately the steak knife given with the steak was filthy. The mixed vegetables were zucchini. As we were still sitting at the table other servers (not ours) came by to take the ketchup(which was given to us empty) and other items off the table. While there is a lot of potential here they have a long way to go.

Tried again to have dinner here. We were the only ones in the restaurant even though it was scheduled for karaoke night. The wine and drink menu was updated. We ordered the salmon and sirloin. The waitress came back to let us know the salmon was out of stock then a few minutes later came back and said they also did not have the sirloin. Unfortunately we then decided to eat somewhere else. The Local at Legends is truly a hidden gem that has been revitalized under its new ownership. The view is amazing overlooking Lake Louisa and Legends Golf Course. From the moment you step inside, you can see the care and thought that went into the remodel—the space is inviting, modern, and perfect for a casual yet elevated dining experience.

The revamped menu is a game-changer, offering a variety of appetizing dishes that cater to all tastes. Every meal I’ve had here has been consistently delicious, with fresh ingredients and great presentation. It’s clear the kitchen staff takes pride in their work.

Beware. We had an agreement, via email, with the owner to host a large event at The Local. While we waited for the deposit instructions we went ahead and sent out invitations for said event. A few weeks later when we inquired about needing to make the deposit she informed us someone else came in the day after my most recent inquiry and paid the full amount to host an event on that very day and time. She not only showed no concern we had already mailed out our invitations, and the predicament she had put us in, but said she was not going to discuss it further. This is unprofessional and rude on every level and shows the quality of said person. Of course, the lesson here is never send out invitations until you've secured the venue with a deposit, however, since we worked with her in the past we thought she would honor her agreement.
